Club Level Worth it?

I can upgrade a garden view room at the Contemporary to club level for ~$150 additional per night or to GF main building club for ~$175 additional per night with the pass holder specials. I’m staying for 4 nights in September. Never stayed in club level before and just wondering about anyone’s thoughts.

My wife and I stayed Club Level at Beach Club back in May and would absolutely do it again. We have two kids (4 and 1) and the food offerings they provide throughout the day are more than enough to satisfy hunger cravings. It was nice to not have to worry about where to go for food or pack snacks because everything we needed was right there in the club. It's expensive, but I feel it's worth it, though everyone's sense of "worth" is different.

If you plan on spending all of your time in the parks...it's probably not worth the money, but if you're going to spend the majority of your time at the resort, then I say go for it. When we went in May just for the weekend, we didn't leave the resort once.

Would I do it again? Absolutely. We have a 10 day trip in March and we're going to try and book a Club Level room for that.

It sounds like Club level could be nice, depending on what you need/are looking for during your time. But as a couple who spends most of their time in the parks, I agree with @SAV: The price of an upgrade to club level is more than per night at the All-Stars when we go.

Its totally a personal thing. I'm doing club level in August because we are only going 3 days and....I'm almost ashamed to admit it but.... I did it to buy the 90 day fast passes so I could get all the toy story rides back to back, and all the top Epcot ones together. I also have always wanted to check out CL, but for me, it will probably only be for short trips. So it will depend on what you consider "worth it"

How did it work with the signature services FP+'s?

So $600-$700 more for some appetizers and snacks, if you are BIG drinkers and they have the alcohol, it might come close, but you would have to consume a lot of beer and wine

Actually really smooth. I was able to book both my 90 and 60 day fast passes all at the 90 day mark. The first day I have 6 at MK, then 6 at HS the next, and finally 3 Tier 1 at Epcot and 3 at MK. You just cannot book the same experience twice in one day. They were really helpful at finding the times I was looking for.

You have to call, pay the fee, and then you can add everything in MDE yourself?

You call, pay the fee, but they do it all for you! You just tell them what experiences you want and rough time estimates, and they book it all while on the phone and then it loads into MDE. Since at 90 days everything is open still, it was really easy to get the times you want.

We have stayed Club Level at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht Club, and twice at the Contemporary Resort.

For us, we found it was not worth the extra money because we were only there for breakfast and late night cookies. We always missed the best food because we were always in the parks morning until night. It was nice having packages delivered to your room and the personal service you received. But...again...we did it three times and just felt like we did not get enough out of it to justify the extra cost.

Now, if you spend more time at the resort, then that could change. But if you are park commandos like us then you are just not physically at the resort enough to really take advantage of the Club Level offerings.

Just our opinion.

I think "worth" is subjective when it comes to CL. Unless you're at least 4 to a room and spend substantial time at the resort, it's not financially worth it. Now, convenience is the huge factor IMO, primarily when you don't have to go and track down breakfast and coffee every morning, for example. Sometimes we stay CL, sometimes not. Depends on our plans for that trip.

For comparison's sake I picked a one night stay on 7/8/2019, and selected the cheapest options of club vs non-club at the Polynesian:

Club Level Garden View: $722.00
Standard Pool/Marina View: $586.00
Difference: $136.00

Let's look at the Grand Floridian for the same night:

Club Level Outer Building Standard: $716.00
Regular Outer Building Lagoon View: $615.00
Difference: $101.00

So let's say you have an average family of 4.

$136.00 / 4 = $34.00 per person extra to stay Club Level at the Polynesian.
$101.00 / 4 = $25.25 per person extra to stay Club Level at the Grand Floridian.

That $25.25 - $34.00 per person gets each person:
- Breakfast
- Bananas and apples to take into the parks
- Unlimited cups of good coffee
- Unlimited sodas
- Afternoon snacks
- Heavy pupus in the evening
- Unlimited wine
- Unlimited liqueurs & cordials
- A quiet, air-conditioned place to spread out and relax

Think about what those items would cost if you were to get them at your resort or in the parks. It's very well worth it, even if you're a teetotaler. As for me, I definitely got my money's worth in cups of Ku'ulei's Punch each evening at the Polynesian... or in shots of Amarula Cream at the AKL.:p

funny how things are different at different times of the year, you had me curious so I went to the website;

I pulled up Polynesian for my upcoming trip, Nov 23- Nov 27

Standard Room $549.75/ night
Lagoon View Club Level $ 950.75/night

That is more than $450 night more, I am not seeing your math in this situation, am I looking at it incorrect?

@Beacon Joe is not exactly comparing apples to apples.

In the case of the Poly, a garden view club room compared with a garden view (not pool/marina) standard room would be a greater differential, making the club room “cost” more.

The same goes for the GF. The Outer Building Club Standard does not have a view of the lagoon. It would need to be compared to a standard garden view room (which costs less than lagoon view). Again the club would “cost” more.

Your example @Dave Ber is also not apples to apples. A Poly Lagoon view club level room is approximately $100 more per night than a club garden view room.

Views and location can alter the price of club rooms.

My wife and kids absolutely loved club level and if you play your cards right you'll save money on meals. We largely did not eat any breakfast thanks to the food that was put out. We also had a "dinner" or two there. Does that make up for the cost, probably not but it was such a great experience my wife is dying to do that again :)
