Club Level at Wilderness Lodge

Just curious, for anyone who has done it and then decided to do it again, why? We just got back from 13 nights Club Level at the Lodge, and while the Lodge remains my favorite resort, I can't believe what an absolute waste of money club level was. The food was a joke. Goldfish crackers, gummie bears, cookies, soda. Give me a break. There was wine at night. Wow. And there was apple cobbler 4 nights out of 7. The concierge desk was of no help at all, and knew nothing more than I already did. And heck, my room had a far better view when we stayed on the 5th floor.

I'm sorry people, but for an additional $160 a night, Disney out to be ashamed of themselves.

I have always heard that this concierge level wasn't up to par like the other Disney resorts (but it also does cost quite a bit less). I usually tell people that are looking for club level to look at one of the other resorts over WL (particularly Polynesian and Animal Kingdom Lodge)

Glad to hear that... I just switched our Christmas stay from WL Club Level to the Poly Club Level. The awesome 40% off deal for passholders made the switch possible.

Captainkidd, sorry CL wasn't what you expected. The crappy view was one of the reasons why we switched to Poly. (that and the transportation options-we're going for Christmas and want to deal with buses as little as possible) Still love the Lodge, but for our 1st CL stay I'm glad we chose Poly.

I completely agree. I personally have found disney concierge to be a waste of money but it is nice to try once.

This will be our 3rd year in a row staying club level at WL. We enjoyed the first year so much it's been hard to NOT to go back to club level.

We have always have had no complaints and the cast members have been wonderful. We even had one remember us from the year before and even our special request to have ginger ale in the room.

Sorry you had a bad visit. I would not agree. Looking foward to my club stay in three weeks.

Have you ever stayed non-club level at WL? It's not much different. Your room is the same (sans DVD player and cheap bathrobes.) The Concierge staff is no more helpful than the staff downstairs, and you can call from your room and get immediate help from any room.

$160 more per night for some goldfish, apple cobbler, gummie bears and soda? Not to mention the fact that the lounge is closed periodically throughout the day and from 10:00PM to 7:00AM.

I should also mention, the sitting areas on the 4th and 5th floors are FAR nicer to the sitting areas on the 7th. There are fireplaces on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th floor. None on the 7th.

Yep. We've been staying at the WL for the last 12 years or so. Still prefer the club level.

Did they not have the evening app's? There was at least one hot soup and meal item served each day and veggies and cheese trays. I noticed you never mentioned them.

It's the small things they did for us doing our stay that made it very special the last couple of years. We also have been lucky enough to have a 40% discount that made it even nicer.

Sorry you had a bad experience. We have stayed at the Poly as well and did not have a good time there. We always took a few things back to the room with us so the hours never really bothered us.

We noticed a hot "appetizer" one night. It was more of a side dish. Potato au gratin or something. There were veggie and cheese trays, but again, not worth the price you pay.

I've stayed club level where you get what's served at Disney buffets - Waffles, pancakes, strawberries, real desserts, not just cookies and brownies every night.

Wow! My folks have stayed at all but one of the club levels (Animal Kingdom). They never mentioned any buffet style breakfast. I know at GF they enjoyed an larger selection of finger type foods for the evening service and at Boardwalk they enjoyed the increased pastry selection in the morning and dessert time.

We enjoy our stay and are looking forward to our club stay in a few weeks. It's vacation...and it's Disney....gonna enjoy myself no matter what!

As with anything, only the individual can decided weather something is worth the price. I have stayed at the Club Level and thought it was totally worth it. We belong to the Disney Vacation Club and we definitely think that its worth the money. We get the meal plan and optimize its use. A lot of people don't think these things are worth it for them, thats okay.
