Club Level at AKL?

That is what I was referring to. If you are not staying in the room, then you are not technically allowed into the club level lounge. And just because they aren't checking, doesn't make it right. Sorry, but this country has become way too much of a me, me, me and whatever I can get away with attitude. I don't care that someone paid a lot of money to go there. We all do. Guess I'm just old and was brought up with a different mind-set of following the rules. 22 years in the military helped with that attitude as well. Integrity was our number one core value, and we took it to heart.

So I wonder if he will be the first one complaining to the CMs when they run out of something, because people grabbed all of an item that he wanted and then gave it to other people that aren't staying at the club level, but just visiting?

You do have the option of letting them know ahead of time. I had a friend come up from Palm Beach to stay with us at Poly for 2 nights on our last trip. I called and asked, and also linked out fast passes and dining reservations. They gave her a temporary guest parking pass for the days she was there (technically my spot because I didn't have a car, if I did then she would have been required to valet), and a key card to get access to the room and pool- no magic band. ( I would think it would work the same as club level..I'm probably having a visitor on my night there, not positive yet. )

When she arrived I did have to go and meet her in the lobby to verify, but that's kind of normal. I don't feel guilty that she used the same amenities as other guests, and I don't feel like I did something wrong. Especially when there's people who stay at resorts and put 4&5 adults in a room.

I'm much more bothered by people who park at the MK resorts for a breakfast reservation and leave their car in the parking lot all day...or non resort guests who take up the beach chairs (if they are full) during the EWP and Wishes.

I'm not advocating having a big reunion, but 1 or 2 guests, for a day or two, if you're a party of 2, is ok in my eyes.

Certainly don't have an issue with your situation. The difference is that at club level you get free drinks (including alcoholic drinks) and free food all day. Parking or using the pool as a guest of a guest is not taking food or drinks from anyone other paying guests.

My situation is a little unique because there is only one adult in the room. So even if a friend does come to spend the day with us at AKL, and goes to the lounge..with prior approval and proper key cards.. We are still a smaller party than most. Technically my room covers 2 adults and 2 children I think.

It's not as easy as it sounds though.. When I first "added" the friend to the 2 nights, next time I checked my MDE the price shot up dramatically. It added her to our dining plan and same tickets (10 day) as well. I immediately called, spent an hour or more on the phone with Disney, but it did get sorted out.

@rawisericho If you are having guests just call before your trip, but make sure they add them as a guest and not to your entire reservation..I don't know how the original person I spoke with did that, but the next person made it sound like it wasn't an easy fix. It almost was to the point where they wanted me to cancel and rebook, but the room category was sold out.. Luckily it didn't come to that.

Ah, yeah. Obviously the club level has more restrictions about allowing guests in. I thought he was talking about just the room rented.

Nope, I won't be. My wife and I are just going to bring up my brother and sister in law and we don't plan on complaining. We'd like to sit, chat and maybe have a glass of wine.

Thanks for pontificating on what I might do during my stay. Integrity is your number one value, is being judgy number two?

I'm staying CL in AKL in October. Two questions:

1. Are our guests allowed? I'm assuming it's "officially" discourages but assuming they're with me and everyone is being cool there shouldn't be any issues.
This was your original statement. It is quite obvious that you planned on taking people that are not staying with you into the club level lounge for free wine.

Nope, I don't believe my statement was "judgy". I wasn't saying that you are a bad person for asking about this one particular item. Just pointing out that what people do are personal choices that we all have to make in our lives.

My brother and sister in law are not guests of club level.

I don't plan on going up there and causing a ruckus or eating anyone out of house and home, just hanging out in the area and having a nice time.

I personally don't see a problem with it, but that's my POV.

Not to thread drift, but this is to be expected if you add a party to a package booking. Everyone on a package booking needs to have the same exact package, so dining, tickets, etc. The best way to get around this is to add them as a "day guest" once you have checked in. That will let them use DME, get a room key, etc, but not require them to have dining and tickets. The quirk to this is if they are arriving at the same time, as you wouldn't be able to book DME. So then you would typically either book the smallest package possible (so the minimum tickets needed to get whatever dining you have) and then upgrade accordingly.

Yeah lesson learned! I had booked a Room Only reservation (30% off), and then added dining and tickets which I guess made it a package. The friend is a Florida resident and had her own tickets. I was just calling to make sure she could have a key and parking pass. I thought they could just make a note on the reservation, didn't realize that it was adding her to the entire stay.
