Hello Everyone,

Let's come up with a list of closed attractions which now have empty buildings or areas. Please add to the list and help me out with the ones that are missing!

Magic Kingdom
Skyway (2 Buildings)
20,000 Leagues under the Sea
Timekeeper (Limited Openings)
Carousel of Progress (This should be opened!)
The stage in Tomorrowland (Someone help me with the name)

Epcot
Odyssey Building
Restaurant in Innoventions (Not Electric Umbrella...HELP!)
Millenium Village

Disney MGM Studios
Hunchback of Notre Dame Theater
The other tour (Not the backlot! Help!)
Superstar TV Theater (ABC Theater)

Animal Kingdom
Discovery Riverboats
Anyone ever notice how many food stands are closed!

The Epcot Restaurant is Pasta Piazza.

It is the Galaxy Theatre in Tomorrowland.

It's not the Animation Tour......I can't remember the name, but it's the Dalmatians, Home Improvement, Pearl Harbor walking tour.

ABC Theatre had Doug Live in it, followed by Get Happy with ABC.

The Odyssey and The Millenium Village have meetings/events held in their buildings quite often.

Now that you mention it, it doesn't seem too bad after all! Considering the gigantic size of WDW the few places that are closed seem rather insignificant. I read so many posts with complaints about how Disney has closed so many attractions and not replaced them with new shows. Now that I have seen this post it makes me pleased to realize that WDW has only closed poor rides. I feel better.

When I went to the magic kingdom for grad nite, we entered through a backstage area right by the galxy theater. They had some kind of DJ playing on that stage.

Yea....it has stuff on it at special times (they had Night Before Christmas during Christmas)....much like Odyssey and Millenium Village.

The Galaxy Theater used to hold shows that they would put on with the characters back in the late 80's early 90's as I remember it and I don't think I've seen a single thing there since (not that there hasn't been).

Somebody refresh my memory, what's Millenium Village??

Hi ECHO!

It's that big old building between Canada and England in World Showcase that they used for exhibits and entertainment during the Milennium celebration.

It's still there, in all it's glory, though thankfully fenced off and nicely landscaped so it takes an effort to see it.

If you grab a Beaver tail from Canada, start walking towards The Rose and Crown Pub, turn your head to the right, squint your eyes, and jump like this =====> :sohappy:
you should have no problem seeing it!

:p

You know, until my trip last month, I would have 100% agreed with you. But it was the absolute, #1 highlight of my four-year-old's trip! The look of excitement and sheer thrill she gave when I put HER behind the wheel was absolutely priceless.

They've renamed it World Showplace, and they hold special events there (much the same as with the Odyssey Restaurant). Some recent events there include special dinners during the Food and Wine Festival, part of the Disneyana Convention, and a hard-ticketed party during the New Year's Eve celebration.

The ImageWorks used to be upstairs, and was quite a bit bigger than it now is in that cramped space at the back of the pavilion. I miss that old space, especially the rainbow tunnel, the stepping tones, and the pin tables.

Of course, I miss the original ride, too!
