Cleaning Up Before Dinner

Hi! I've searched the forums for an answer to this question, but don't think it has been asked before (apologies if I've missed it).

My girlfriend and I are going for a New Year's weekend trip to WDW and one night we have reservations at Victoria and Albert's. That day we plan on going to the Magic Kingdom. Because our trip is so short and we want to spend as much time in the parks as possible, I was wondering whether it's feasible to bring a change of clothes and shower at the Grand Floridian spa or elsewhere, instead of going back to our hotel (we'll be staying at the CSR). Has anyone ever done this before (is it even possible?) or is this absolutely crazy?

Thanks for all your help! :)

I don't think they'd let you shower for free at the spa. They might charge a nominal fee...

I don't know about at the GF spa, but other Spas (Like CSR) will let you use the locker rooms for a fee. You used to be able to use them for free, but this changed about a year ago. Free if you were staying there. If you were at CSR you would have had to pay. The rate at CSR for locker room admission is I think $10. Whatever the non-guest excercize room charge is.

The locker rooms are nice. You will be able to hang your garmnets (as opposed to balling them into a wrinkled lump in the park lockers)

I would call the GF spa and see if they do the same thing as the SSR spa. The SSR spa lockers are nice. Once you pay to get in, free lemon water, free fruit, free robes and towels, free toilteries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, combs, etc etc). Quite nice.

If you call the GF and find out you cannot do it, consider a cab. A cab from MK to your resort, and then another from the resort to the GF is about $20 - $30 total. When you are dropping 3 bills plus on dinner, whats an extra $30 :)

Thanks - those are great ideas! Much appreciated :)

I have to say, I love your idea of using the spa before V&A. I never thought of that.

I used to do it all the time at SSR on my last day there. I would go to the parks in the AM, then come back to the resort and hang out at the pool all day.

I would then go into the spa locker room and relax (They have a hot tub, dry sauna, and steam room in there), shower, shave, get dressed, have dinner, and then catch my flight home feeling well rested (just like I had been on a vacation)

Since they started charging to use the locker room, sometimes I use it, other times I use the free showers that they have outside the gym (they are just standard showers and lockers, no spa stuff.

I really like the idea though of going to the spa before hitting V&A's
