Hi, recently I've developed somewhat of an interest in classical music. I really like peaceful songs, not really the loud and powerful ones. I've been listening to Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D and Johann Sebastian Bach's Jesus Bleibet Meine Freude and II. Air. Are there more peaceful songs like these anyone can recommend? Thanks.

Here are some that I like, Vince (you've already taken my favorite with Canon in D):

Adiago Cantabile by Beethoven
Lovedream:No.3 in A by Liszt

Any interest in vocal stuff? Try

The Flower Duet
Pie Jesu

And a bit more upbeat, but beautiful:

Mattinata
Habanera

I love classical and am currently picking out pieces to be played at my wedding for the prelude! :)
Invention No. 13
and
Invention No. 8 (bach)

Prelude no. 1 (well-tempered clavichord) (bach)
I agree with the water music choices above.

I love Tchaikovsky (can't spell) - anything from The Nutcracker

Prelude in C from Rachmaninmoff (can't spell)

Many more! Just can't think of them all!

I usually enjoy movie music. Some of them include:

All Harry Potter sound tracks ( Main theme, Fawk's theme, Buckbeak's Flight, and Patronus light are my faves )

All lord of the Rings sound tracks ( the black rider, bridge of Kazad Dum, Rivendell, Lothlorien, Isengaurd unlseashed, Tree beard, Breath of Life, Helm's Deep, and more.... )

All Star Wars soundtracks ( Duel of the Fates, Battle of the Heros, Palpatine's Teachings, Main theme, the Battle Begins all rock! )

Alexander soundtrack ( movie sucked, but Vangelis is the BEST! Fav songs include Young Alexander, Titans, Drums of Gaugamela, Gardens of Delight, and Dream of Babylon. )

POTC: Crossed Swords, and He's a pirate are great.

Edward Scissorhands: Opening Titles, Bedtime story, Suberbia, Ice Dance, Edward the Barber, and the finale are all heart wrenching. Its great!

i'd say anything mellow by Beethoven (Pastoral is a personal fav.), also Canon in D is a must.

i'm using Joy of Mans Desiring by Bach for my processional at my wedding. very pretty and relaxing.

some of Vivaldis concertos are mellow, anything with a flute, oboe, or clarinet is good. :D
