Cities and Towns that closely resemble Main Street U.S.A.??

Ok, we ALL know that Main Street USA is a take on Marcelline, MO where Walt grew up...We know!

But, I want to know what towns, THAT YOU KNOW OF, resemble in some capacity that Main Street USA that we know of at Disney Parks...

It could be a town where you once visited as a kid, or maybe you live there now?

Just list the name of the town, and if possible, pictures to help illustrate your post...

I visited a small town in Northern Pa that was kind of close. Don't remember the name though. It had a canyon near by.

If you ignore the mountain in the background Cooperstown, NY looks similar to Main Street in a way. It has that type of feel to it only a different type of one. This is of course where the Baseball Hall of Fame is located so there is some nostalgia attached to that for sure, just not the magic aura more of a prescence of Babe Ruth than Walt Disney, lol

Another one kind of reminds me of it would be Niagara on the Lake, Ontario right near Niagara Falls. Kind of a simple tourist town with a lot of shops and a simple main street to it. Has the horse and carriage rides going down the street, a clock tower, stuff like that. Kind of transported back in time.

State College, Pa reminds me of Main Street USA. (Penn State University, downtown). They even have a theatre with the old bulb lights hanging from the outside entry.

And, the neighboring town, Bellefonte, PA, has a home that reminds me of the Haunted Mansion..... More so than the actual Mansion it was designed after....

I completely agree...I went to college right outside of Cooperstown and worked there in the summer. It has that old, small town feel and the streets are lined with great shops and restaurants!

In Mount Airy, NC they have a Main Street (modelled after the tv's Andy Griffith show) and there's a barbershop, diner, candy shop, clothing shops, post office, etc.

Downtown Newport, RI (the part that doesn't have all the mansions) looks a bit like Main Street USA. Sorry, I've got no pics.
