Me and my cousin Zach are ligrophobic (fear of loud noises). Are there any things in La Nouba that might disturb that fear?

Well, really, La Nouba is mostly consistant loud music, but not too loud. I'm not sure to what extent you are ligrophobic. If you can attend a concert, than you can easily attend La Nouba. It's most easily comparable to a broadway musical, with quite a bit more action. :)

I don't like fireworks, gunfire, or explosions. There's none of that in La Nouba, is there? I saw a DVD of a bit of it, and the opening has some thunder, plus that loud noise when the gate things close, but I think I can handle that. I used to play in a band, so I guess I can take drums. But, there's nothing like fireworks or gunfire or anything, is there?

K, thanks, I'll be sure to tell Zach (he told his 6th period teacher about his situation, and she said that he could just wait in the lobby if he found that there were explosions).

I don´t recall too many noises... but the surprise effect is everywhere in Cirque su Soleil´s shows. Focus your attention on the performers, I think you´ll be fine.
....and thanks for a new word for my vocabulary! ;)

We saw the show about two months ago. There are no words to describe it, it is just amazing.
The clowns do have two scenes where there is an exploding phone and a cowboy and indian scene where the cowboy has an oversized gun that goes off. I don't remember it being too loud though.

See? I wasn't making that up. I was trying to break it to you gently. I've seen the show three times now and as much as I don't think it'd bother you I thought it better to tell you the truth then have you running out of the theatre.

Dude, I'm not going to run out of the theater. Anyway, it wasn't in the f*cking DVD. If you could just tell me where that part was, I'll cover my ears. Or maybe I'll just play my IPod on super loud. I told you, I only have it so-so, but Zach's completely terrified of loud noises; but he'll just play his IPod really loud, also. I remember that we went to a July 4th fireworks show, and we both just played out IPods really loud (our ears didn't burst or anything) and we couldn't hear a single thing of fireworks. The only problem is, that today at school, as Zach just told me, the middle school principal asked if he was okay with going, and Zach said yes, and now he wants to say that he wasn't okay about going, but he doesn't want to ________ off the principal.

Are there any other scenes with loud noises besides the exploding phones and the gunfire? How many exploding phones are there, and how many gunshots are there? And what parts are they at? (Zach's making me write all these questions...oh, crap, now he's starting to attack me...he's attacking me again...now he's attacking me more...)

Holy cow...this thread has been dead for a long time.

Anyway, I'm going to go and look for a video on Disney Central. It'll probably take all night to download, though...

The full DVD version of La Nouba comes out on DVD, Novemer 2nd. The "Inside La Nouba" DVD that is out now is about 70% of the show and some of the behind the scenes stuff.

I have seen the show 11 times (I think thats right). It is one of my favorites, there are only a couple of "loud" effects, but the music is loud as well. As mentioned there are the clown effects and then there are some louder accents into the music in several sections. Also there are a couple of times the music will get very quiet as the artists prepare for thier stunts (i.e. Highwire) once the "hit" the stunt the music picks back up to the loud levels rather quickly.
