hey, has anyone seen La Nouba at DTD? if not, i HIGHLY recommend it! not only is it my all time fave Cirque du Soleil show, but also it's HIGH in family entertainment, for ALL ages! it's like a circus, only jacked up with technical effects, a powerful musical score, and acts that are like nothing you've ever seen! the whole show will leave you in awe! for those of you who are scared of clowns, there are a few clowns in the show, but as far as i can remember, they pretty much keep their distance from the audience. they're mainly there to make you laugh, but not in a creepy kind of way that other clowns do. but, personally, i'm ok with clowns, so if you want to see the show, use your own discresion (sp?)
now i know over $70 per adult is a little expensive, but i swear to you, from experience, it's worth EVERY penny! i'd honestly be willing to put down $100 to see it...i'd think twice about it, but i'd be willing to do it! plus, it's a really great way to rest your feet and get out of the heat for an hour and a half!
anyway, just wanted to tell you all about this grand experience! i know there's probably lots of people who have no idea what it is...after all, i was one of those people when they first build the building that houses the show. i had no idea at all what it was until i started seeing other Cirque shows on Bravo. i instantly became a fan and, as they say, the rest is history.

but for those of us who have seen it....what was your fave part?
mine?...it's hard to choose just one. i loved the Xtreme bikers part, the trampoline was awesome, and i've always loved the guys in the big ring thingys! but i guess my most fave part was the little Chinese girls with the diablos! out of everything, that part left me going 'how the he....how'd they do that?!' more than anything in the whole show! totally amazing!

Thanks for that we are trying to decide what to have on our agenda for our next visit, sounds like this will be a definate. I was just about to put a post up asking about this. Didnt think it was as expensive though.

Definately go see it. I saw it for the first time earlier this month (May) and I was blown away by it. I even hate clowns but this show was worth it (though some of the actors were a bit freaky). It is expensive but it is worth every cent IMO. Sort of like going to see a Broadway show.

I will definately try to see this again the next time I go to WDW.

Before I saw Cirque du Soleil... I had no real interest in seeing it. I mean, it was expensive, and it looked weird. Not something for me.

But then one of my managers told me that because I was such a hard working cast member, they were going to give me 2 complimentary tickets to see La Nouba. So I went.

Wow. WOW. WOW! It was simply amazing. I spent 75% of the show with my eyes peeled wide open, and my jaw dropped. The other 25% was spent laughing... :) It truely is an amazing show. It's about 1hr 45 mins long... no intermission... live music and singing... and they defy gravity, I swear they really do.

This show is definetly worth every penny. I know it is expensive, but trust me, it's like nothing you have ever seen before, and you will not be dissapointed. My mother took me for my second time... (even better the second time!), and she agreed that it is worth it... (and she's a frugal person)

At any rate... I'd advise y'all to get your tickets early for the best possible seat. While there are no bad seats in the house (and trust me, I sat in the very very top row, alllllllll the way over to the left because we got our tickets at the last minute), there are some seats that are better than others.

I would recommend the UPPER section... in the center. The reason I say Upper section is that it will be easier for you to see the show this way. They have some high wire acts, and trapeze acts, and I'd imagine those in the first section might get a kink in thier neck from looking up... (although, they also get a closer view of the amazingness of everything)

So... it's your personal choice on seats... but... there really isn't a bad seat in the house...

I've seen 5 different Cirque shows (La Nouba, O, Mystére, Quidam, and Dralion) and you know what...

i wanna see them all again, and see the ones I haven't seen yet.

The cast and crew w/ Cirque has to be the most talented I've ever seen, and they put on a helluva show, night after night.

This is the only show I'll readily plunk down so much money to see.

I love Cirque du Soleil's shows! All of them! I haven't been able to see La Nouba, but I've heard the soundtrack and its great. Out of all the "parts" of La Nouba I've seen , I think my favorite is the powertrack, that large cube that the trapolinists jump through.

Now is the best time to see La Nouba. The Disney Club is offering a 15% discount off the regular admission price through the end of September, 2002. If they can't get their attendance back up they may consider closing or changing the show. When I saw it last month the house was only about 25% of capacity. And as Fantasia Boi noted they are giving out more and more complimentary tickets (papering the house) to boost attendance. It's a great show! See it if you have the chance.

Well... I don't know about that... When I went, the place was JAM PACKED... As for the Comp Tickets... *shrug* maybe it was to boost attendance, I don't know. It was for a Matinee show (this was a year ago), and the place was about 60-70% full... But I was told I was given the tickets because of my hard work, and that the management team wanted to thank me.

I apologize.

Oh please forgive me Fantasia Boi. It was not my intention to imply that you were given tickets due to low value. It is a tradition in show business to paper the house with employees and their families for shows that don't fill the capacity of the theater. The La Nouba seems to have fallen on hard times but that doesn't make the worth less valuable. I was only aware of the 15% discount but as another poster stated you may be able to get 25% off the admission price with an AP. I have been concerned since WDW did away last year with west bus stop at DTD. You are in show business, so make the most of it and good luck!

La Nouba, without a doubt is probably the best live show you can see at disney. Its a little expensive but well worth the price. I recommend it to all.

My wife and I took a "Disney Trip" 2 years ago. They all went to La Nouba but me, and still tell me to this day, that I was crazy to miss it. They absolutely loved it! Only problem is, I had a fantastic time shopping at the Virgin Megastore right next door! As a huge music fan, any opportunity to browse, unencumbered, in that environment, is worth it! Hope she goes to Cirque every time!!!!!!!!!!!!!haha
