Cinemagique Attraction to the Studios in 2005

I love this attraction it is one of the best at WDS. The sorcerer's aht is outside the Animation building so no bad omens.

The show would not work as a pre-show it has a very clear storyline and involves in house effects and live actors. It is quite long and well worth it. The main actor is English speaking and most of it is in English but the heroine is French which works quite well as he can't fully understand her. It is excellent and I don't think it would replace TGMR.

What I thought was quite weird is that it uses the clip from the Exorcist where Reagen's head snaps completely around to stare at her mother only in this version she pukes.

Yes! The Exorcist! The funniest movie of all time! This show has to be added :)

Uh..I really can't believe how many people here are willing to sacrafice a RIDE for a SHOW, seeing as MGM has, what, 9 shows, and only 4 rides, one of which is a motion simulator..Come on, MGM is in desperate need of actual RIDES, enough with the shows, update the GMR, and give cinemagique to the ABC theater. It can simply be removed from the 'ABC T-V and Radio theme' and rethemed to look like hollywood.

First off, who got the info about this happenning? I hope whoever you are, you got this one right. From the description of the attraction, I hope it's a go. Now where should it go? Definately in the current ABC Theatre. It's a HUGE theatre to begin with and it's in a great location. Let's all keep our fingers crossed on this one.

I think with the recent cost-cutting measures Cinemagique WILL NOT make it to MGM since this particular show was VERY VERY VERY expensive to create. Why you ask? Because of all the rights involved with all the movies in it.

However, I do feel that if there is one place this attraction could go in Disney/MGM, it would be The Chinese Theater.

Well I certainly hope this rumor is true. I'd love to see it (or anything for that matter) in the ABC Theater. Fingers are crossed.

Man...when I saw the title of this thread (and the poster) I thought it was actually happening.

This would be an excellent addition though....

While I would like to see Cinemagique in WDW, I would not want to loose TGMR.
Having said that people have been predicting the demise of TGMR for years now.
Maybe it could go into Epcot as that unbuilt Movie Attraction that spawned Disney/MGM.

Uhmmm...

Not to be smart or anything...but did we look at the date of the original post ....

"16th September 2002, 07:14"

The 2005 timeline May have made sense in 2002...I suppose that this makes sense why it doesn't seem like it could be ready for an opening for next year...

I still would like to see this show, or a similar idea in an attraction, make its way to our side of the globe...I just don't see it happening anytime soon...

Absolutely not. BUT, if something happens where Disney can no longer use the Muppets and they had to replace it, I'd be OK with it. Though that opens up a different can of worms, as I'd be so angry with Disney for not finding a way to buy the Muppets in the first place.

Disney owns the muppets now so I don't think this is going to happen.

Another attraction from Paris exported to the world, and after ten years replaced by something else worldwide.

See Visionarium -> Timekeeper.

Cinemagique is my favourite attraction in the Studios. It's one of the most interesting things I've seen. It’s amazing! Martin Short is the hero in it, and, as always in my opinion, is as hysterical as he is in everything he does for Disney. (The Making of Me, Father of the Bride, Treasure Planet) It’s just brilliant.

The show starts off with the usher telling you to enjoy the show and to remember to switch of your mobile phones! The movie starts with a number of silent movie clips. Suddenly a phone rings. (Typical!) The usher try’s to stop the man but he goes on stage to try and get a better signal. While this is happening the characters on screen stop what their doing and, with a puff of smoke, the wizard on screen takes the man INTO the screen. It’s Martin Short! And he's still on his phone. Only now of course we can’t hear him! After escaping, George, Shorts character, gets in a pie fight with Laurel and Hardy, is involved in a shoot out with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, dances on the rooftops of London with Bert and Mary Poppins, swims with Pinocchio and Jiminy, try’s to save Jack on the Titanic and SO much more!!!!!
<O:p
All the way through George is being followed by an admirer, the beautiful Marguerite, and the wizard. Marguerite is played by French Julie Delpy who played Nicole in ER a few years back. The magician is played by Alan , the wonderful, Scottish actor who has been in LOADS of late. (I have to say he’s wonderful because he’s a fellow Scot!!!)

Some of the movies I can remember being included are: Dracula, Metropolis, Once Upon A Time In The West, Braveheart, The Silence Of The Lambs, Casablanca, Singin' In The Rain, West Side Story, A Fish Called Wanda, Monsters Inc., The Exorcist, Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, The three musketeers, Robin Hood, a Charlie Chaplin movie, a Laurel and Hardy movie, The Wizard of Oz, Tombstone, Star Wars, The Hunt for Red October, Some Like it Hot, The Pink Panther, Safety Last, and Three Men and a Little Baby (the original French version) to name a few!

I SO hope this attraction is added one day. It would make a wonderful addition to my favourite Walt Disney World park, the Disney MGM Studios. It could easily be done as it is mainly in English, with Marguerite and some others speaking French. I can’t speak highly enough of this show. It’s worth going to DLP for alone!

Sorry for going on so much. I just LOVE it!!!
