Cindy's Royal Table, going down hill?

Is it me or has Cinderella's Royal Table been lowering there overall quality over the years. Going back some years, it just seems like service was so much better, little things like the Mickey Mouse butter, and the food seems to be just "ok".

Maybe it is me but the last few times I have been there, except for the novelty of eating in the castle, it is not what is was.

Your Thoughts?

the quality has diminished and the price has sky-rocketed...not worth it at all to me. But, they can do whatever they want b/c the demand to eat there is SO high.

I agree, I much preferred Cinderella's Royal Table with it's Dinner Menu. But as noted above, it's so popular they could serve hot dogs for $40 and still fill up the seats!! haha

I've eaten there a few times for breakfast and dinner. I really liked breakfast the princesses were great. I did enjoy the dinners, great atmosphere, even though there were no characters. When they added characters, changed it to pre-paid and upped the price that was enough for me to stay away from the dinner. I'd do it again if the price came down, or make it not pre-paid, which will never happen. If I ever go back it'll be breakfast only.

This trip we are trying 1900 Park Fare!

The wife and I really enjoy all the dining through out disney, and don't have a issue paying for a nice dinner. But, sometimes it is the little things that make the dinner nice, we traveled from Tampa just to eat at Narcoossee's on our last trip to Florida. Just not the same.

I agree about CRT. We are skipping it on our next trip. The old menu for dinner was fabulous. Now, it is certainly NOT worth the 2 meal credits.

I agree, we have to use our meal credits carefully! Haha! Last time I was planning a visit the dinner at CRT was only one credit and that was when the menu was very appetizing! Oh well!!

I agree with most of the sentiment that CRT is getting a little too pricey. When you figure the two meal credits and what you can get with the same credits it just doesn't make $en$e. Hoop de do is the same two credits and is a lot more bang for the buck

Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded...

Sadly you are right. I'll miss eating there, but the public seems to be eating up (pun intended) the changes. It's got to be the most overpriced meal at the parks, but I guess people aren't paying for the food when they go there.

My daugther wants to go there for breakfast in Nov. If we do go, we won't use dining credits. I just don't see it being worth 2 credits. We haven't eaten there in several years. I can't decide. Is the food the serve at breakfast now any good?

We had breakfast the week after it changed. The food was really very good! I was impressed with the whole package, but having never experienced it before the changes, can't provide insight as to whether it has improved or declined. DS seemed quite pleased posing with the Princesses and Fairy Godmother, but we had eaten all we could eat and were antsy to get out into the park so we didn't stay for the "show". i didn't use DDP credits for it, I figured I'd get more value at single-credit TS restaurants [I was right]. The server we had thought I didn't like the food because I didn't ask for more... :veryconfu I couldn't have eaten another bite! There was a man at the next table who ordered a third complete plate! I can't imagine eating that much in a sitting without blowing up [insert Monty Python reference here ].

I don't know about CRT, but I will say that I HIGHLY recommend the Princess breakfast at Akershus in Norway which according to the WDW site is currently only 1 meal credit. The food was delicious, and there were still Princesses. (It's very busy, but it was a bit easier to get a reservation here than in CRT when I booked for a breakfast for last August.)

I know this is slightly off-topic, but I am just letting you know that I really liked this alternative Breakfast with the Princesses a LOT!

I'm Planning a trip for my 30th b'day and plan to eat there on my b'day

I have seen some example menus on the net and thought that the food looked nicer at dinner, although no princesses

I will be on DDP when I go

would it be a good idea to have character breakfast at norway and book dinner at the castle?

or are there any other better places to spend my b'day?

I have not experienced the new CRT dinner menu, so I can't comment on that, but I will say that it DEFINITELY sounds like a 'special' birthday to have breakfast with the Princesses in Norway and dine in a Castle for dinner! Sometimes a character will appear in the lobby while you're waiting for your table there, too! (Or at least that's how it used to be...I met Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora in BLUE there on separate occassions years ago.)

Just because I can't say enough good things about the breakfast in Norway, here's some more info about it:

~The meal was a pre-set menu with a fixed price and we had potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, warm biscuits, and cinnamon rolls. Everything was delicious and served just right; we also got orange juice and coffee.

~Characters are always subject to change, but Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Jasmine, and Mulan make an effort to be there for breakfast. (I heard that recently Ariel has been available for photos with guests waiting to be seated for breakfast as well.) I hear that lunch and dinner usually features Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine. If a Princess is swamped with Royal duties, Mary Poppins, Alice, or Wendy will sometimes fill in for her. I have also heard of rare occassions where Pocahontas or Esmeralda was there (though I only heard of each of them being there once), and I hear that sometimes Aladdin accompanies Jasmine. (The character list is based on discussion with many, many, many guests who ate there; I worked in World Showcase and "eating with the Princesses" was a frequent answer to "what was the best part of your day?" and I always liked hearing who was there.

quick question-When did they make the change at CRT that you are all talking about. I remember reading about it somewhere but I just don't recall the time frame. Also, someone had mentioned not staying for the "show". Do the princesses do something now. When we had gone they just walked around to the tables for autographs and pics. Have they changed that too? Did they change the breakfast menu? I may be asking things that have already been discussed, but I just want to make sure of these things before I make our ressies for the upcoming trip. Thanks all.
