Cinderella's Royal Table Reservation Roulette

Tell me I'm not the only weirdo. Or tell me I'm weirdo: I can laugh at myself.

We are spending Christmas at WDW 12/22-12/26. I am in the awesome position, as a fan of Ariel, Tiana, Aurora, et al, of having a 5 year old boy who likes princesses as much as he likes pirates, cars or cowboys. So he and I planned a meal at CRT on 12/26, our last full day at MK.

At our 180 days, I reserved the park opening breakfast slot, wanting to do early entry and the almost empty Main Street holiday shots. Then I realized I was giving up prime EMH and rope drop touring time to eat eggs with Ariel awkwardly hovering. So I changed it to 11:30 am and opened up an 8:15 CRT for someone else. Then I read the lunch menu at CRT and thought, "Um..no," and decided dinner would be a great way to wrap our last day, so I changed the reservation to 7:15 p.m.

Then I realized days later that we were also planning to do the Wishes Dessert Party that night, and we'd probably have a conflict if we were seated after our ADR (most likely) and had slow service (probable at holiday time). So I managed to dig up a 9:25 a.m. reservation on 12/26 and booked it as well (yes, I was that jerk-weasel who was holding two CRT ressies on the same day). For about two hours was I that jerk-weasel.

Then I called a super sweet CM and babbled all of my worries to her and she found a 5:25 p.m. reservation by enlarging my party size from 3 to 4 (a helpful tip if you're unaware of it). So now I have one reservation for CRT at 5:25 p.m. the day after Christmas. That took three weeks to hammer down, and I still have 5 months until my trip, haha.

Disney. It makes you do the wacky.

I think you're in good company :D At least it all worked out for you too. I am now less than 2 mos out, have started having this "something is missing" feeling- and I'm starting to wonder if it's CRT. Your post has me debating about going into stalker mode (even though I shouldn't).

Just FYI...CRT is a prepaid dinner. If you have a reservation for 4 and only 3 people are attending you might be flipping the bill for a party of 4. It would be worth looking into.

We're on the Deluxe Dining Plan. I checked with the CM that it shows that on my reservation, and it does. No pre-pay necessary!

Stalker mode! Stalker mode! LOL, don't listen to me, I'm an enabler. I know you're a lot closer to arrival than I am, but there were some that had opened up between my 180 days and this week. You never know!

I've always been successful with my stalking efforts, I just really shouldn't do it this time. Of course, I had this hair brained idea about surprising the fam with park tickets on our last day - literally came to me 5 min ago...and wouldn't you know it- a breakfast slot at CRT just "magically" appeared for that morning. I know it wasn't there 2 hours ago b/c I was looking at swapping out other things for that morning. It's tempting, but I'm going to be strong. ;) At least we've dined there our last 3 trips.

Stay strong! And last day tickets are an awesome idea! This is our first trip to CRT (we're doing Akershus as well this time, along with Garden Grill and Tusker House -- we LOVE our characters and I'm taking advantage of it while he's little enough to enjoy it). Last year we just did CP and Chef Mickey's.

I also really enjoy character meals.:) Sadly, we have such a short trip planned here and it's pretty heavy on TS meals as well as custom cakes...so I really don't think we can swing more park tickets. :( We really only have 2 slots where CRT "could" work. In one case, we're eating at 1900 PF for dinner as the dinner characters are the only character dining we have yet to experience...so I can't see canceling that. The other would be for lunch on our "primarily MK" day. The only problems there 1. we already have TS breakfast (Crystal Palace) and dinner ('Ohana) that day 2. We'd been planning BOG for lunch since we tried TS dinner there last trip. We'll see...if it opens up for lunch that day- I may just have to flip a coin, shake the magic 8 ball, and get a fortune cookie so I can decide. :D
