Cinderella's Royal Breakfeast

 Hello,
I was hoping you guys could give some encouragement regarding CRT Breakfeast. The cost is $19.99 for January. I was lucky to get a 10 am for a MK early opening day. That should be time to generate some hunger. I am just curious what the Big Deal is to pay so much for a mouse shaped pancake.
Please do not think I have no WDW spirit, I would rather spend that type of money on a lunch or dinner occassion. I have been going to WDW since 1994 every year. Never been to CRT. If you guys can enlighten me, I should be grateful. How did this event become so desirable? Why are the lunch and dinner not? Your thoughts will certainly help my plans.
Thanks.

Not to add to any conspiracies, but...

I've been told by several very reliable sources that Disney Corporate holds several tables at the CRT breakfast each day to use as perks for their "VIP" guests. I think that's why a few walk-ups each morning actually end up with a table and also why certain "Conceirge" level customers at the deluxe resorts sometimes score seats w/in days of dining.

I've been told that it's worth an effort to call back during the 60 day reservation interim (particularly calling back the week before your MK visit) because some parties back out and some "corporate" tables end up given back to WDW reservations.

However, with this with-held table routine being common, I have yet to hear of any "common folk" getting a table this way. Not sure if it's because people give up or because Conceirge gets the open tables or what...

I also know that's why they started the Princess Breakfast in Epcot, even though it's really not the same experience. My suggestion to an amigo in a relatively high (non-parks) position at Disney was to turn the 1900 Park Faire Breakfast or the Polynesian Hotel Character Breakfast into a more "modern era" princess breakfast (from Ariel onward) and let the castle one be for the classic princesses (pre-Ariel).

My feeling is that people want a character experience in relation to MK and not so much at Epcot. Using a resort on the MK monorial loop would probably make things a bit more satisfying. To me the breakfast at Epcot is a blatant ploy to draw more families to that park since attendance for the last few years at Epcot has been low. And as much as I like the Norway Restaurant, nothing about Norway nor this particular setting reeks of fairytale princesses.

And as a moderate WDW purist, I want Epcot to feel like a grand world's fair and MK to be about magic adventures. With this Princess Breakfast at Epcot, once again they are blurring the lines of distinction between their four very distinct parks. Not to mention my side says that if Epcot must have this kind of breakfast, then Germany (due to Brothers Grimm) should be its host, not Norway.

Each time as soon as I said breakfast/castle, I was told sorry sold out. This was pre-credit card hold. That started shortly after we returned.

We did the same after CC hold and had the same problem.

We went by "real" time and tried even a couple minutes before, and still got put on hold. We just weren't lucky this time around!

I'm not complaining, because I did get to go one time before~ I just want to stress how very difficult it is to get reservations.

It is soo difficult this last visit was our first time as well. We did manage to score seats for all 8 of us! What I don't understand is why cant they offer a Disney Princess Lunch at the castle? If the breakfast is so popular (and its not just for the food!) why cant that add 3 hours of lunch time? Say Breakfast until 11 and then start lunch seating from noon -3 pm...then they would have time in between to each meal to switch gears...b'fast, lunch and then their fancier dinner! BUT that would make sense~~~

I believe there is also an alternative "Breakfast with the Princesses" at Epcot now. It is held at the Norway pavilion and is also a difficult to get ressie. Does provide another possibility though. And yes, as character breakfasts go, the food at Cinderella's is very good.
