Cinderella

I was trying to remember which castle was used as the main model for Cinderella's castle (for the movie and, later, for the park).

Was it Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany? Does anybody know  ?

I found these pictures and they look like the one I was thinking of. http://www.allgaeu-schwaben.com/cneuschwanstein.html

I'm doing a Princess Room for the daughter of someone I used to work with and I guess I'm having a little too much fun with my research ;)

Cinderella's Castle was based on a number of castles but I do believe the main model was located in Germany though I can not be sure on the name of it.

I'll try looking something up for you later today. Good luck on the room.

Remember:

The base of the castle is actually built like a fortress - then the remaining floors are a combination of styles. I have no idea where i read that, probably in one of my Disney design books.

Thanks, Rob-- I have read that somewhere before too but I can't remember where it was.

The Neuschwanstein castle, from certain angles, looks like an honest-to-goodness Fairy Tale castle. You can really see its influence in Cinderella Castle's turrets-towers-spires- whatever they are called. I'm castle illiterate.

Time to watch that movie again...It's been a while!
