Fairy Godmother's is a massive improvement. Lady Tremaine and the sister's are nice improvements. I sort of liked the old look of the sisters but the new costumes look more, natural/real, I suppose. The Fairy Godmother looked like she was wearing a blue tarp. They all looked like material they use for tarps.

Lady Tremain's new costume is a classy improvement for a woman of her status. And thank goodness Fairy Godmother doesn't look like she's wearing a blue trash bag anymore.
I used to think the Fairy Godmother was wearing glasses because of how difficult you were able to see her from a far away view (Especially during the parades).

It's almost as if they are re-imagining the costumes as they would appear if the films had been released in an era where computer graphics had the capability to add details that would never have been possible back in the time of hand animated films. I mean, the added details are nice, but part of me does question the changes when the original costumes were so close to what the characters looked like in the original film. I guess for continuity, you may want all of the face characters in the park to have costumes with similar levels of detail and you can't "downgrade"/simplify the looks of some of the newer characters.

Cinderella's always had a pattern on her dress that isn't in the movie. Lately they've been going a bit steeper with the deviation to make them more culturally accurate. The Pocahontas change is a prime example. I get the sense that someone feels the need to justify their employment. But I don't mind so long as the character is still recognizable to an average fellow like me.

Most of all, I'm just glad they're steering clear of the live action looks.

Fairy godmother huge improvement!! never realized how bad hers looked. Yes the animation was simple because it needed to be, but if these characters were real, rich, and snooty this is closer to how they looked. I guess I look at the animation as if someone was telling the story to someone (she was wearing a beautiful blue dress), meeting them in person you see just how beautiful the blue dress is because you are actually seeing it not hearing about it.

Well at Cinderella doesn't have the b and the beehive hair like she did decades ago

I know of a least one godmother who had mixed feelings about the new costume - mostly because it wasn’t designed for Florida and is like 100% velvet. Which I’m sure feels fantastic :-/

That old costume was no walk in the park either. I'm sure it was a lot lighter in weight, but that tissue lame traps the heat like crazy. I never understood how they could be out in the summer sun for even a few minutes at a time.
