Hey Everyone. Im doing a research report on the mexican holiday, Cinco de Mayo. My teacher wants me to write a journal in the place of someone celebrating this holiday and what their daily activities are. Such as, dancing, eating good mexican food, singing ect. Im having a lot of trouble finding information. Does anyone here celebrate this holiday? And can anyone help me with my journal?

Thanks!

I'm with grizz here. There is more than enough information on google.com.

In fact, I took a quick look and one site mentioned that Cinco de Mayo is a much bigger holiday in the US than in Mexico. (not unlike St. Patrick's Day in Ireland.)

That´s true. We don´t make a big deal out of it. There is a ceremony to commemorate it, and a military parade, but other than that it is a regular day. Our biggest celebration is Independence Day on September 16th.

OK, so maybe your "journal" should read something like:

I woke up today and it was May 5. There was no special breakfast, and I still had to go to school. We got a break during the afternoon to watch the parade. I hear that in the US today is a big excuse to drink lots of margaritas. I just don't understand why....
