12/9 Update

Rotten Tomatoes now posts most of the critic's reviews that will be available. The film is overall 74% Fresh with 90 positive reviews and 29 negative reviews. Of the more respected critics, over 82% gave it a positive review with an average rating of 7.3 out of 10.

The movie has gotten very good reviews, has had a big marketing push to nearly every possible audience sector and has a modestly big following from the books. It should be a very solid opening weekend for Disney. Perhaps their biggest Opening Weekend to date? If not, it should open big. The only damper is the snow over the east/northern part of the country today. Whether that will have any effect whatsoever is unknown.

I'm a projectionist and got to preview it last night. I thought it was fantastic. I have never read the books but I loved the story, the acting, the CG, everything. I've never been a big fan of the fantasy/action genre (I hated Lord of the Rings) but I really loved this movie.

BTW- Today we have sold out every show of the day. Its playing right now to a packed house. WTG Disney and Walden Media

And one more Sidenote, The POTC 2 trailer was on Narnia and looks amazing. Can't wait for that one. If you haven't seen the trailer, you can check it out at http://movies.go.com

here is a review for you guys. i'm a 24 year old guy who has read the lion the witch and the wardrobe dozens of times. i cried like a baby the entire second half of this movie.

some slight differences in the movie from the book, but this movie was great. i seriously could not control myself, this movie was brilliant.

Okay, coming from a guy who didn't really want to see the movie in the first place, it's really impressive. I was stunned at how much better it was than I thought it would be. Definitely a great film.
