Christmas Trip

Alright so we're beginning to plan a Holiday 2013 trip, we've never been to the World over the holidays and figured this would be a good year to cross it off the bucket list. We're looking at going: 12-26 to 1-1-14. And due to taking a few extra family members it is probably not going to be cost efficient to stay at our normal resort (POFQ)...does anyone have any opinions on Art of Animation suites?

Grrrr....see, this is why we can't have nice things! It was there on our first walkthrough the second week of August (I was at Pop), but somewhere between then and a few days later, someone had pried it off...you could even still see the marks in the paint from the adhesive.

So annoying.

Thanks for checking!
I found my pictures from September--since I took close-ups that trip, and when I zoomed-in, I could see the spot you are talking about where the decal used to be.

One thing to keep in mind is getting ADR's for Thanksgiving Day if you want to eat turkey that day. We went two years ago over Thanksgiving and wanted to eat at Liberty Tree on Thanksgiving Day, it was booked solid 180 days out. We ended up eating at Whispering Canyon and it was great, all the Christmas decorations were up at Wilderness Lodge, so we took several photos before and after the meal. A nice thing was that we were able to ride the boat back and forth from the MK.
On that note, some restaurants will have special dishes especially for Thanksgiving. We went in 2009 and had Thanksgiving dinner at Jiko, and they swapped out their chicken dish for a special turkey dish in honor of Thanksgiving. Here's a list of the special menus: http://allears.net/menu/men_thks.htm (not sure why it says 2011 across the top?)

Also, I don't think they do MVMCP during Thanksgiving week...FYI. You'll definitely get all of the holiday decorations though! :)

I think they're ridiculously priced for a Value place. You'll pay less and stay somewhere much nicer off the Disney property.
I did off property once...waited hours to get out after the fireworks...I will never stay off property again...even a "crappy" Disney resort...The transportation/lack of hassle is worth everything in my mind. But to each their own.
