What are the parks like around the beginning of December? Also, what are your thoughts on Mickeys Cery Merry Christmas Party? I'm super excited to go, it's my first time going in December!

It can be very busy. The closer you get to christmas the busier it will be. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party is great, controlled crowds, special parade and fireworks, I personally enjoy it, but some people say it's not worth the cost.

Definitely set aside some time to check out some of the resorts during your stay. Each one does it's own decorations, a few build giant gingerbread houses/displays and there's tons of special events happening all around the world

I have been twice once the first week in December 2014 and the second week December 2015. Went to Mickey's Very Merry Party and it was worth it it, great time. The crowds are not that bad the first two weeks but you will have Pop-Warner Football and Cheerleaders in the parks those two weeks. We stayed at a deluxe property each time (Animal Kingdom & Contemporary). Both were great and not that crowded.

I have a trip planned for 12/15/17 to 12/23/17. I just purchased my MVMCP tickets for 12/17/17 yesterday. We did the MNSSHP last year for the first time and loved it and we are looking forward to attending our first Christmas party this year. December can't get here soon enough!

If you are in the first two weeks the crowds will not be that bad. But the park hours are also not as friendly as usual, in the past they have closed earlier at that time of the year. MK will usually close at 9:00 and other parks will also close earlier than in the summer. Weather however is very nice that time of the year. We've done the Christmas party in the past but if I were ranking the hard ticket events the Christmas party would probably be dead last on the list, below even the ones they no longer do like the Pirate and Princess party. Now some of it may have been down to expectations because I know some of the things we thought would be cool before we got there turned out to be duds.... Cookies and hot chocolate... well the cookies were pretty much what you would find in a Sam's Club, come on for the price of admission is it too difficult to make them just a little bit Disneyish? Then there was the "snow" on main street.... Turns out it was very tiny wimpy bubble stuff, nothing like snow at all.... So honestly If you want easy access to some ride I might suggest you do the party but for the other stuff... its just a weak event.

Its a great time to go and if youre not in the holiday spirit beforehand, you will be after you step into the parks. Everything is wonderfully decorated and no one does it better than Disney. The Castle is outstanding all lit up. You have to also visit the resorts if you can fit them in because they all have their special decorations up too. GF has a huge gingerbread house built to amaze you. Because its holiday time it seems like everyone is friendlier and full of joy.
Crowd levels in early December have gotten heavier over the years so dont expect it to be a slow time anymore. Weather can get chilly so plan on having a light jacket or sweatshirt along with you in the afternoon/ evenings.
The MVMCP is a fun event with out of the ordinary character M&G, special merchandise, and fun events planned in. Ive gone multiple times and although I rank it behind the MNSSHP, I think its still worth paying to go. Youll have fun.
