Been to WDW alot of times. Mostly summer or fall trips. My wife and I are planning a Christmas trip :xmas: for first week in dec. Just wondering what everyone recommended for a resort for that time of year?? Which ones have best Christmas decorations?? Staying for 6 to 8 days depending on cost. So could do 3 to 4 days at two different resorts. Since probably won't visit again around that time of year for a while be nice to take in couple of resorts. Like one around WDW and then one close to epcot mgm area?? Thanks in advance for any help, Rodney

All of the resorts are amazing at Christmas, but for some reason the Wilderness Lodge seems the most Christmassy to me. Maybe it is the fireplace and the wood smoke, but it just feels like ... home.

I was watching either the Discovery Channel, Travel Channel or Food Network, haha don't remember, when they did a special epsiode about the food at disney world around the holidays. And at the Grand Floridian they construct a huge Gingerbread house and that alone made me want to stay at that resort during christmas. The polynesian did something similiar too with a bunch of edible animals and such, looked really neat.:xmas:

WL has great Christmas decorations. I was able to spend some time in the lobby all by myself late on night returning for doing laundry. I got some great pictures with no one in the lobby.

We stayed at the AKL last Christmas and it was amazing. There was even a Christmas tree lighting service with CMs from Africa singing carols. I loved it. Although I'd like to stay at the WL for Christmas.

I agree, the WL is the best place to stay for Christmas. It is so beautiful there during the holidays.

What I suggest you do though, is no matter where you decide to stay, make it a point to go to the different resorts and see all the decorations. Everything looks so grand.

And definately go to Fort Wilderness, but you will want to do it at night. The resort has very pretty decorations at Pioneer Hall but the guests make the campgrounds come alive on those cool, peaceful, December nights.
