Christmas Plans

We just spent our honeymoon at Disney in May and we just HAVE to go back again! So we were thinking of off-property Christmas week. My husband and I both share the same birthday (Dec. 28th) so we would like to be there then as well.

Any suggestions re: avoiding crowds, saving $$, etc.

To avoid crowds and save money, you'll have to go before Dec. 20th. That's when the peak season rates kick back in and value season ends.

If you can go then, I saw the All-Stars for $77.00 a night and Port Orleans for $85.00 a night on Expedia. After the 20th though, the higher rates will kick in and the crowds show up because school is out.

Disney at Xmas is pretty spectacular though. Don't miss the Osborn lights at MGM.

I saw better rates then that on mousesavers but they do end before Christmas week. Sorry.

I'm pretty sure that when you check in December 25th or before, then you get the discount for your entire stay. Unless the discount codes are all sold out by then.

This has not been true in my experience. I've found that your room rate will fluctuate. For example, if peak season starts on the 20th, even if you check in before then, your rate for the night of the 20th and subsequent nights will go up.

All Star Music Here I Come!

I love you guys!

I decided that my dates were a bit flexible. I mean, a few days before Christmas is just as good as Christmas Day.... if it means I save lots of money!

So I checked Mousesavers, where they showed a rate of $55 for All Star Music. I had to play around with dates because of availability, but got four nights at All Star Music for $55 per night.

Sure is a lot better than staying off-property!

In fact, now I get "two" Christmases - one is my present of WDW mini-vacation, and the other comes a few days later!

:D

Cool. If you get a chance, buy tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It is worth the extra $$. The Christmas Parade is my absolute favorite.

Also, take ride to the some of the other resorts and check out their Christmas decorations. The Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, and Boardwalk are especially nice.

Wow! Good for you!!

One day I'd love to spend Christmas at Disney ... I'm doubtful it's going to happen though - my DH can be a huge stick in the mud when it comes to traveling over the holidays.
