Just checking - will the deluxe resorts be decorated for Christmas by the 20th of November? We're planning to take some friends to see the gingerbread house at the GF, the tree at WL, and the carousel at Beach Club, plus a few others - maybe FW at night too.

I stayed there during Thanksgiving week last year. The house was up and they were finishing the inside when we arrived on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It opened for business on either Monday or Tuesday.

With Thanksgiving being so late this year, I wonder if it will be done before Thanksgiving.

OK - thanks. Any idea when the gingerbread house in the GF is set up?
I took this picture on November 14th last year. So you may be in luck.

If you want, I could go over there and ask them shortly before you leave. But you will have to REMIND ME to do it. :)

I normally charge $20 for personalized trips to WDW, but I'll give you the Friends & Family rate of $.25 (don't worry - you can owe me.) :)

I might take you up on that. We'll be in Port Charlotte for most of the week before - just coming into Orlando the night of the 19th and flying out the night of the 20th.

Do you accept pennies?

I do not. But you can owe me. Rather have you owe me than just never pay me! ;)

When I first read that, I though it said Port Charles, the fictional home of all who live near General Hospital. :)

Just remind me. :)

If the Gingerbread House is still under construction you are able to get pieces of the gingerbread that are being cut off and not used. They are laid out on a tablecloth in the 'construction' area for guests to take pieces. The flavor is very very good!!:joyfull:

I've heard the WL tree almost always goes up on Nov 17th...regardless of when Thanksgiving falls. We used this date as our gauge last year...and it was pretty accurate for the other resorts. The gingerbread structures at BC and BW were both being built on Nov 16th and the YC lobby was totally decked out by the morning of the 17th. We had dinner at the Contemporary on the 16th last year and nearly all of their décor was up...I think only the big lit mouse ears were missing at that point... and they never went up during our trip. We checked out the day before Thanksgiving and they were still not up at that point. But yeah- nearly all of the resort decorations were up by the 17th last year..
