Christmas Decor

How long are the holiday decorations up? I want to try and arrive the first of January so we can see them. Will they still be up?

One of our castmembers who frequent this site could surely answer this. I would think you'd be safe until the 4th or 5th; I couldn't imagine the deco being up much longer than than that.

They wil be up the first of January. They do start to come down very quickly after New Years day though. Best time to see them is shortly after Thanksgiving until just before X-mas eve. There are fewer guests in the parks during that time and you can go to a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party if so choose. Its a separate admission even at the Magic Kingdom. When I went a couple of years ago the fact that I rode Big Thunder Mountain 6 times was worth the price alone.

I have heard they are very fast in taking them down. ALmost overnite

Thanks for the input! I would love to go during Dec but my husband works in IT for our state gov't, so it is very hard for him to request time off around the holidays. We may just wait until the weekend after New Years so we can avoid the holiday crowds. We still have lots of time. I am have to wait until AP rates come out for January.
