hi, im going to be staying in Disney's Pop Century Resort at christmas time for 3 weeks (and im totally excited) but i was just wondering if you need a special ticket to get into any of the 4 theme parks on christmas day as would love to spend christmas day in the magic kingdom. here in england you can buy a 21 day ultimate pass to any of the Disney parks for the entire length of your trip, even though im buying one of them it would really help me if anyone has any information about this, thankyou.

No separate admission ticket is required for Christmas Day. The only separate ticket needed is for Mickey's Very Mery Christmas Party, which is held on several December nights after the park closes.

thankyou very much for that. I asked when i was over there in may 2005 and they couldn't understand me. i phoned the firm up who i had booked over the internet with and they had no idea what i was talking about even though that was a "Disney" phone number.

As stated before, you don't need anything extra to get in, but get there early to get in!

Last Christmas the weather was horrible, the property was packed, but no one was in the parks on Christmas Eve or Day. It was raining both days and the temps never hit 50, so not the best day.

DisneyQuest was packed as was the Downtown Disney area. My mother and I hit ToT five times in a row without a wait, that's how dead it was on Christmas day!

Hope for the same weather and you can have the parks to yourself!

If it's nice out, be ready for the parks to hit capacity!

I was at MK on Christmas day. It rained most of the day. We got there about 10:30 a.m. and entered with no problems. We left due to rain at 1:00 p.m., went back to the hotel and rested and had lunch. We went back to MK about 6:00 p.m. after the rain stopped, and rode Splash Mountain 4 times in a row, never getting out of the log. We just kept going round and round as no one was in line. The park was not crowded at all.

This was due to the lousy weather tho, and so if the weather is good, I would guess that it would be quite crowded on Christmas Day.

We did Epcot Christmas Eve, the Candelight Processional, and it was awesome. Not that crowded there, but it was in the 50's temperature wise.

The year before, we did MK on Christmas Day, and the weather was 80's and sunny. It was very crowded, but we got there at 10:00 a.m. and stayed until midnight, and did everything.

Christmas is so special there. You will have a great time!

We've been at WDW twice during the Christmas holiday. Like others have said, get there early. It will be crowded, but you'll still have a great time.
Whatever you do during your stay, don't miss out on the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. The first time we saw it, the narrator was Sandi Patty, and the second time Gary Sinise. Both times we watched it, was on Christmas Eve. Since you're staying at a Disney resort, you'll even get a little gift from Santa, on your door Christmas morning.

thanx for all the information, its helped me a lot and made me more excited- if that is even possible. this will be my first time going at christmas and going by myself. also does anyone have any ideas of where i could go on new years eve as im not old enough to go to the atlantic rolls at the boardwalk or pleasure island without wearing a tag around my wrist but i would go to a park if there was any room and does anyone know if the parks put on displays to welcome the new year in. thanks again.

I have gone to MGM for the past two New Years Eve's and hope to spend this New Years there as well.

After 6:00 p.m. they have a stage set up by the Sorcer's hat and bands play till 1:00 a.m. They have three showings of Fantasmic, and they have the Osbourne Lights which are awesome to see. All of the rides are open, and at MIdnight they have special fireworks. I have never heard of MGM closing due to crowds on New Years Eve. Lots of choices to eat as well. Because there is so much to do and see there, it does not feel crowded.

Epcot is open also till 1:00 a.m and I believe that they do ILluminations twice. Not sure if there is a special firework. The one thing I heard that they do, is that each country celebrates New Years Eve according to it's time zone, so it is celebrated around the world. Epcot sometimes closes due to crowds.

I also recommend the candelight processional on christmas eve as it makes it special. We saw it for the first time this past christmas with Gary SInise. He was awesome as was the choir.

MK is open till 1:00 a.m. too, but I am not sure what they do that is special. This park can close both on New Years Eve and day due to crowds, altho we always go here New Year's Day and get most everything done even with the crowds since it is open till midnight.

I hope this helps. Whatever you chose to do, you will have an awesome time. Kudo's to going solo! I just did my first partial solo trip in APril as my daughter went with her high school choir to sing at Epcot. 24 Hours on a bus with 44 high schoolers was not for me, so I flew down and therefore had extra time while they were on the road and also while they were in workshops. It was great to do some things that my daughter normally does not like to do like watch parades, and sit and smell the coffee!

KevinPage, Actually, I am a better woman than you are man. LOL

It really is not that hard to survive if you know what you are doing and since my DD and I go a lot, we have experience in these matters.
