Christmas 2009 Free Dining?

Hi,

I know Disney is offering free dining between August and October, but does anyone know if it would be offered anytime during the Christmas season?

Might think of visiting for Christmas, we've never gone that time of year before, and I was curious.

Highly unlikely. Free dining is offered during a notoriously slow time of the year as a way to increase attendance. The week of Christmas is always near 100% occupancy even at the highest rates of the year so there is no incentive to offer a discount.

Last year there was a free dining offer for certain dates in the fall for Disney Visa cardholders. For Christmas, if you checked in on or before 12/20 you could get free dining for the duration of your stay. (pending availability, of course). We had it for our stay at WL Dec. 17-26. Also, some guests received a pin code discount for free dining for the same dates. The offer was not available to the general public. I am hoping the offer is repeated this year, but at this point it is too early to tell. Last year's offer was announced in mid-September.

We like to go in early December. The Christmas decorations are all up and it usually isn't crowded. Of course we use it as a sem-bribe to the kids telling them we can only go if their grades are superlative. We also contact their teachers weeks in advance and get all study/homework that is going on that week and the kids must work on it while there (the parks close early). It has worked on my stepson for 14 years (he's 20).

We just announced our plans to go again this year (two youngest are 9&10) and the 20 year old piped up that he'd continue getting straight A's in college if we'd take him with us for another trip. :lol:
