Choosing 2 out of 4 parks

My son and daughter-in-law are joining us on a trip in May, They think they may only want to go to 2 parks. We lived in Orlando in the early 90's and for him the last time he went was 1997 unlike his father he has never been a big Disney fan. He is not big on thrill rides but does like to walk around and observe. My daughter-in-law has only been to WDW once as a child but has been to Disneyland numerous times with her family and really enjoys it. She loves thrill rides as do I. My question is which 2 parks would you suggest? (I am hoping to convince them to do all 4). I realize this is purely subjective but thought it would be fun to see what others would do.

For the perfect combination of fun attractions and pretty places to walk around and observe, I'd recommend Magic Kingdom (heavier on attractions, with the more exciting rides being Splash, Space Mountain, BTMRR, etc.) and Animal Kingdom (which offers the safari, Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, and if you equate "soggy" with "thrilling," Kali River Rapids). :)

Definitely got to say the Magic Kingdom because there is so much new stuff there. I would then choose Epcot because you get to explore two different types of lands in one park. Have fun.

Keep in mind that soarin will be closed in May :( thats my favorite part of epcot (besides illuminations)... If possible I would do MK one day and get park hopper and split a day with AK in the AM & epcot in the evening.

MK should be a no brainer. Have either ever been to Animal Kingdom? If they've never been and they love animals, I'd definitely say go there. If not, go to Epcot.

MK for sure, and then its a toss up between epcot and AK. If animals and the attractions of AK interest your family more go there, if some of the features of Epcot intrigue you, then choose that :)

I would go for park hoppers and do MK, split a day between DAK and DHS, and the a day at Epcot. In fact, you could always use Epcot for just the "dining" aspect and wonder the park as your son likes to do. Epcot is my favorite park just for the atmosphere (and Illuminations). Your son may like the new parks for their thumbing and not mind being with the group :)

Animal Kingdom for the walk around and observe aspect. It's a beautiful park that lends itself to exploration (something people who consider it to be a half day park fail to consider). I would consider park hopping to the Studios the same day. Unless you linger you should still have enough time for a quick visit to hit the major thrill rides, if nothing else.

For day two, Epcot would be my first choice. It has a few thrills and again lends itself to walking and observing. It's also quite different for someone who is familiar with Disneyland. Again I would consider park hopping to the MK for the coaster fix, but it would be second choice based on the scenario you have provided.

Definitely MK for one day, and then I would say have park hopper and do AK for the morning/early afternoon and then go to Epcot later afternoon and evening, ending with Illuminations.

Deciding between EPCOT and AK - I always was a huge EPCOT fan (still am), but I do love AK, too. It's REALLY grown on me. That said, there's a lot more construction at AK right now than EPCOT, so that would be a mitigating factor, too!

MK and Epcot. MK because it's a must. I enjoy AK but I think Epcot is your better choice for strolling WS and visiting during the Flower and Garden Festival. Epcot is perfect for your son in law. Plenty of walking around and observing there. It takes it's hits for lack of attractions but it makes up for it with the leisureliness of WS.
