Trip Report Choir Tour!

Hey all! I haven't been around for a while because A. school, B. not on vacation, and C. not in Florida.
But, in the next two days, I'm leaving for week long tour in Orlando with my choir, culminating in a trip to Magic Kingdom on the last day!
So even though only one day of this will be Disney-centric, I thought it'd be cool to document the process and all that.
If you wanna know more about the choir, go here! http://www.whitesburgbaptist.org/connect/studentshome/resolved-student-music/

Or here! http://resolvedstudentmusic.blogspot.com/

We're doing a lot of service projects, concerts, and all that, and if any of you are around, feel free to come check us out.

This trip is also super special to me because it's my last one with the group before I graduate. :(
But I couldn't have picked a better place for my last adventure, and I'm so excited for so much of this trip. We're singing at St. James cathedral, doing a concert at Fun Spot, Lake Eola, and a lot of homeless shelters etc. like Orlando Rescue Mission and Salvation Army. Another reason is that my birthday is a week from the day that we are in the MK, so I'll be doing a little celebrating there!

Also, because I'm a nerd, the minute I heard we were going to MK, I booked a reservation for two at Be Our Guest. Originally, my dad was supposed to be coming on this trip so I thought I'd take him, but it didn't work out. However, we do this thing called Secret Prayer Partners, where you draw someone's name before we leave, and you take the time to send that person notes and candy and stuff like that throughout the trip. Turns out my secret prayer partner is one of the girls that went with me on my last trip to Disney, and is a huge Beauty and the Beast fan, so I'm gonna take her with me to Be Our Guest.

(On a smaller note, this isn't a "Come to Jesus" thread if that's not your thing. I'll let the concerts do that for me, this is just to document our work projects, our off time, and maybe what we had for dinner!)

With that, I'll get back to doing my laundry to pack up. It's going to be amazing, exhausting, and crazy, and I couldn't be more excited!

Hello from somewhere outside of Atlanta! We've been on the road for eight hours, most of it stuck in horrendous traffic (we're about two to three hours behind schedule ). But besides that, we're doing okay. The Chick Fil A that I am currently sitting in is our lunch stop for the day.
I delivered the note to my secret prayer partner inviting her to Be Our Guest, and she promptly flipped so yay!
Hopefully our next leg of the tour will be quicker, but so far so good!

Good morning from Orlando! I'm currently eating breakfast before we head out to Salvation Army for the day. Things have been going so fast that by the time we get back to our hotel rooms all I can do is fall into bed.
Yesterday we got to do a lot of neat stuff. We had a concert right next to the Walt Disney Ampitheater in Lake Eola park (the amphitheater itself was like ten thousand dollars more than the plaza to book lol), sang at a cathedral, and then did a concert with a homeless ministry in a parking lot.
I got to do a little exploring in Downtown Orlando while me and a few others got lost on our way to a Starbucks. As someone who usually stays in the Disney bubble when they're in Orlando, it's neat to see all the cool stuff downtown. Lake Eola is totally gorgeous and on Sunday we were in Winter Park, which was awesome as well.
We are all definitely pretty tired and it's only Tuesday, so sneaking naps on the bus is a must.
Today we are also singing at Fun Sppt, which is going to be pretty fascinating, so I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes.
I gotta go catch the bus! Till next time! (And I have no idea when that will be.)

Hello from home! I've been back for a couple of days now and just got my wits together enough to do a full report, so let's get started!

Saturday the 19th! Travel time!

So we all gathered together at about six in the morning to get on the buses. it's about a 12/13 hour drive from where we live.

The view from the window!

And thus we were off!

As bus rides go, this one wasn't too bad. I was able to get in a lot of sleep thankfully (I had just finished my school's production of Legally Blonde all of five days before we left, and was up packing until four in the morning).

We stopped off for lunch McDonough Georgia, a city I oddly enough have the key to, thanks to a previous choir tour (that's a long story). dinner was somewhere else. On bus trips like this, things just kind of tend to run together.

We arrived at our hotel super late thanks to a ton of traffic delays, but nothing too detrimental. The only problem is that our next day we had to be up bright and early to do two shows.

Day 2- Aloma Baptist and Orlando Union Rescue Mission Part 1!

Our first concert of the day was at Aloma baptist!

They were awesome to work with and it was a great way to kick off the tour.

I'm gonna level with you guys and admit that several the details form this first day are escaping me. But I'll try to hit the highlights.
After our two performances (they weren't full shows), we headed into Winter Park to check out the art festival. Like a true tired teenager, I opted to sit this one out and grab a nap on the bus, but I seriously regret that. It looked amazing. But alas, sleep won out. Also it was like eighty seven degrees and I hadn't brought my shorts, and me and heat are not good friends.
After my nap, we had an early dinner at Buca di Beppo. We actually don't have one of these in Huntsville, but my mom is weirdly obsessed so I knew what we were getting into. The food was as good as a meal served en masse to eighty or so people can be.

So then we were off to Orlando Union Rescue Mission. I honestly can't recommend this group enough. Their facilities, their programs, everything. More in depth on that later, as we only did a concert there on Sunday. But they are a stellar group that really cares about the people they're serving and does so much good in their community.

I'll be back with more after a nap!
