Choices for traveling from the airport to WDW

In an unrelated thread I’ve gotten some good feedback so I thought I would start a new one.

What are some good choices to travel from the airport to WDW and why? So far Quicksilver and Disney's Magical Express have been recommended. They both sound good; I like the idea of not having to touch your luggage until you get to your room!

I would greatly appreciate your recommendations and why you like it.

Don’t want to rent a car.

Thanks.

Another note. Quicksilver is a great service. We used them this past Oct/Nov and loved it. We would use them again, but we are trying to save a little money.

Just be careful with the tip. We tipped for the whole trip up-front because you have to pay for the whole trip after the ride to the resort. So when we didn't tip on the way back there was a question even though I said tot he first driver that it was for the whole trip.

When I use them again I will split the tip up because the drivers seem to not like to share (I read another account of someone else having the same problem, so it's not just me). I would love to be able to afford to tip 40% but that is just not in my budget.

I've never stayed in a Deluxe resort, but is DME supposed to pick your luggage up from your room for you? If anything, I'd think the hotel's bell services would bring it to the lobby for you, where you would have to check it into the airline yourself...

It doesn't matter if you stay at a value or deluxe, the treatment is the same. You can leave your bags in your room, DME tags attached, and they will pick it up for you if you call the front desk. Supposedly...

Both times it happened and I called the front desk to let them know they were honest and said it was a mess-up on their part; the guests who left the bags did just what they were supposed to do.

So when I have used DME in the past, I have always gotten my own bags at the airport and just brought them with me on DME. Never had any issue, never even had them mention it. On the last day, I pack up my stuff, leave it with the luggage storage, go have fun in the parks, and when I get back to catch the DME bus I grab my luggage and bring it to the airport. The only place that I am not in control of my bags is when I hand them over to the airline, whom I don't really "trust" but at least I know who is responsibile if something does go wrong.

From what I have read about DME (and I am going to use it for the first time this September) you have to bring your bags down to the airport check-in. Leaving your bags in the room only gets them transferred if you are moving from one resort to the next.

This past Nov. when we didn't use DME we were able to bring our bags to airport check-in and get our boarding passes right at the hotel (Beach Club). I think the people who left their bags in the room were mistaken. In this case they were probably the aforementioned weakest link in the chain.

Perhaps it has changed recently, but as I have said I have checked into TWO rooms where this has happened (one in 2005, one in 2006), and both times the people at the front desk were aware they made an error.

They may not do it any more (as I said, I do not use the luggage service and have not used DME since last year), but luggage services certainly did pick up the bags from the rooms for you.

You may be correct that they don't pick it up for you any more (maybe they screwed it up so much they stopped?) but they certainly did when the service first began.

Currently planning a trip in december...(just my mom and I(my 26th birthday)).but im not sure which transportation to take from an to the airport.

In the past ive done the Florida Tiffany Towncar and loved it....the drivers are very nice and are allways on time.

Is the DME worthy for a 2 adult party??? ....I can imagine that it would be alot easier for a family of 4 or more (children in group).

Please note that this service is seperate from DME and is only available for certain airlines. DME, however, is available for all resort guests arrivinf at MCO.
I forgot add that. AirTran was a new addition and one I used. Check out the Disney site for DME and see what airlines are covered for the return trip to MCO.
