chocolate buffets?

Can anyone give me more info about the chocolate buffets offered at MK (I believe it’s at Tomorrowland Terrace)? How/where do you go about booking a reservation? Do you really have a good view of the fireworks at MK? My mom is a big fan of MK fireworks and my sis and I thought it’d be a nice surprise for her when we go in the fall.

Reservations have been opening the month prior- April opened in the beginning of March, and May opened at the beginning of April, etc. We make sure to do this on our yearly trip, and in our experience this party always sells out. I've seen many attempt a walk-up and get turned away over the years, although if you go during a slow time of the year I suppose it could be possible. We take our annual week long trip anywhere from the last week of April until Memorial Day weekend, and each time the party been sold out well in advance. The earlier you make your reservation, the closer you will be to the railing, meaning the better your view will be. It's well worth the cash in my opinion.

@HouCuseChickie How much time do you allow dinner to settle before you go eat a desert like that?

The night we did it, we had an early dinner at Crystal Palace. I think we had a 3:30p ADR, but were seated after 4pm. We were done around 5:15pm...went back to YC for a nap...then made it back to the party just before 9pm. So, it was around 4 hours between dinner and Dessert Party.

You know I have read a lot of mixed results on weather it is worth it or not... what do you think my Disney Friend? :)

I think it's worth doing it once...just to try a new experience, but I don't think repeat visits are needed unless you really hate dealing with the Wishes crowds and can't get any kind of preferred viewing. While the mango shooters are divine and I haven't seen anything like them in other venues, I don't think the overall dessert quality is remarkably better than any of the dinner buffets.

I'm glad we tried it once and we might do it again at some point...but it's not a must do.

This is the WIshes Dessert Party, reservations can be made by calling Disney Dining. Walk ins are also possible but best to make an ADR.
Yup!

Not just chocolate - all sorts of stuff. I was a bit disappointed (we all were, really) in how the treats tasted, but they look fantastic and the view for Wishes is a good one. :)

Also, there is no pop. If you want to drink pop, you will need to bring it along.

DH & I went and enjoyed it, but would never take DD. She just doesn't eat enough to make it worthwhile. Even at 15, she would eat one brownie & be done!
Two pieces of advice if you do go: make sure you're hungry, and try the mango shooter first. It's really good, but not as sweet as the other desserts. So if you eat it after some of the others, it doesn't tasted as good!

The lemonade they had there really just didn't go with all of the dessert food. In fact, I really wish they had pitchers of milk since that felt like the more natural companion drink.

That is exactly what I was wondering too. Seems so close to the normal end of a dinner that I'm not sure I could really enjoy it as much as I'd like. Looks amazing though. Would love to try it some time.

We initially had a 6:15pm dinner booked that night which just would not have been good. I think early TS dinner or maybe a shared QS meal closer to the time would be the only way to make it work from the food perspective.

Now call me crazy ;) but I never looked at it from the "will we be able to eat enough desserts to make it worth it" perspective. I looked at it from the "we'll have a nice hassle free Wishes experience AND get desserts too" point of view. The assigned seating adds to that stress free environment.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, my sis and I are considering the dessert party to avoid much of the hassle we face with the crowds during fireworks. My mum loves Wishes but we've had some issues in the past: my sis is in a wheelchair and even when securing a decent spot a few hours ahead of time, once the fireworks start, it seems to be every family for itself and we had a few issues with parents thinking that right in front of my sister would be a great place to squeeze in front of her and stand with a child propped on their shoulders. It's insane, and a little depressing actually. Yes, I know there's an ADA area, but those fill up verrrry early. Anyway, we thought this would be a fun surprise for our mum and it sounds like it so thank youuuuu!
