Sounds like a plan Jenn - I think you'll pick up some good ideas at the conference as long as you keep them in the context of every child being different.

I think that's my concern...that the biomedical approach only will be pushed vs. a variety of approaches to dealing with the kids. Hence my waiting till I can see what the sessions will actually be.

Well, you have one side that says there's no proof of any help with things like special diets, supplements, vaccine damage, and calls those who promote such things as irresponsible and witch doctors, then you have the biomedical side who says children can be 'cured' and if you don't try the abovementioned things you have given up on your children and whine about the fact they're autistic...:brick::brick::brick:
I want to meet in the middle of those mindsets...a lot of our children have immune issues, but there is much to be gained by educational support and the right attitude toward our kids. I just feel like my head is pulled in two directions.
I told Mike I will try to borrow that book, but maybe I won't be so quick to head to the Chicago conference. Autism Society of America's national conference is in Florida in July. I have up to now taken a break from research because my brain is overcrowding with info (I would love a pensieve right now  ), but I must get back to research. Maybe then I can make a decision on where I want to go. I do want to attend at least one conference this year.

It comes down to a gathering of information and making the decisions that work best for Joel. Pace yourself, love. You're doing great so far.

Have you booked the trip to Chicago yet?
How's it going, Sweets?
I started painted today, finally.
Finished only the hallway, but considering it has 5 doors in it, including two sets of vented bi-folds, that's not too bad.
How's the settling in going?
Not bad at all! Did you tape it off first? That always seems to take the longest, I think.

We had a good day. Got alot done, we're getting very close to being done. Also took a walk through town which was nice. :)

No taping...yet.
I'm doing the woodwork first...bright white.
Then we're going to tape that off to paint the walls.

Yay for a nice walk!
It was a good day for it!

Totally OT, our local TV station is doing a special right now about the Blizzard of 78. I'm shivering just watching it!

Not yet. A portion of our tax refund will go toward a conference, and our taxes aren't done yet.
Oh that's a good idea.

It's a taupe color called Pecan Sandie.
Warm, but not too dark.
I didn't want plain white again, although it does give a small place a clean, bright look. We've had that for the past 7 years here, and for about 5 in our house before we moved. Time for a little color!

Found them at CVS. Was skeptical, but they're so good!! :slurp::slurp: The brownie batter ones are my favorite. :slurp:

Makes me hungry. :o

I bet it will look great. I think color on the walls makes it feel really warm. :) Can we see a pic when you're done?
