hello all,

i am a huge fan of spicy things......somewhat addicted. i eat a few fresh peppers every other day and have a stash of 20 bottles of hot sauce. the other week while riding the land i saw that they grew the bhut jolokia habanero ,which is currently the worlds hottest pepper, and it got me thinking......theres nothing really spicy in the world. now i havent been anywhere so i was wondering if there are any other pepperheads out there that know of a place to get a spicy meal.

I have yet to find anything really hot in WDW either.

They "warned" me about the crawfish during F&W, but I ended up adding hot sauce to it.

House of Blues at DTD. Order the Jambalaya, and try eating the orange pepper they put on top as a garnish.

A friend of mine ordered this at the House of Blues in Boston before it closed a few years ago. The waiter warned him not to eat the pepper, and he wisely obeyed. This friend, unfortunately, forgot that warning 2 years later at the House of Blues in DTD, and what a wonderful warning it would have been.

<waiter places Jambalaya on the table>
<Friend douses the Jambalaya in half a bottle of Tabasco sauce (yeah, he's a hot sauce junky too)>

Me: Hey Dan, remember that the waiter in Boston told you not...

<Dan pops the whole pepper in his mouth, and starts chewing>

Me: ...to eat the pepper. <stares>

<Dan chews a few times. Stops. Eyes go wide>

He spit it into a napkin, but the damage was done. Not only was his mouth completely numb, he was starting to wheeze. It didn't help that the 5 other guys at the table were failing at trying not to laugh hysterically. Figuring he needed help, I flagged down a waitress.

Me: Excuse me, but my friend needs help.

<she looks at him, kind of confused>

Me: He ate the pepper.

Her: Oh my god. I'll go get some milk.

Right as she's leaving our waiter turns up. She tells him what happened, and he just laughs. I can't really blame him, we were cracking up too. The waitress comes back with milk, bread, and sour cream. Finally, after 15 minutes of him trying to cool down his mouth, he's able to talk and can swallow again. He goes to take of bite of the Jambalaya, and realizes it's still covered in Tabasco sauce. He gave up and just ate bread for the rest of the night.

Long story short: Go to House of Blues. Order the Jambalaya. Eat the pepper. Don't die. No, really, don't die.

Im right there with you on the hot and spicy food. Im a little scared to eat a bhut jolokia habanero though. I was really disapointed to not find hardly any spicy food in the Mexico pavillion. When I get home from WDW trips Im always craving spicy hot sauce.

I grow those, and then make a hot sauce from them.

Mainly chicken stock, habaneros, a LOT of cilantro, some garlic, salt, and pepper. Whizz it all up in the blender

It has flavor as well as a lot of heat. I store it in swing top glass bottles (like grolsch bottles) I went to use it one day, took the bottle out of the fridge and gave it a good shake. Well the top flew open and the hot sauce went right in my eye.

Man, you want to talk about pain. Wow. The worst part was, half an hour later after I could see again, I had to clean the rest of the sauce off of the kitchen cabinets.

habaneros make the best hot sauce. i wish there was a hotsauce or hot pepper vendor at the food and wine festival but i guess that wouldnt appeal to more than 2% of the population. oh well.....i can dream

You might ask at the Living with the Land ride if they use the peppers at one of the WDW restaurants. I think most of the stuff they grow there they end up using somewhere.
