Hi,
We have a reservation in my husband's name and I have the AP rate.Is it possible to buy an AP for my daughter and present it at check-in and still get the rate or does the AP have to be in my husband's name?

Officially to get an Annual Passholder discount you must present an Annual Pass in the name of one of the adults (over age 17) in the party. It does not need to be the lead guest, but it cannot be a child.

I have to say, and don't go against the rules because of what I say, but in all the months that I checked in people at the Contemporary, I never asked for an AP, simply because...everyone has SUCH different rates, I just never really questioned where they originated from and AT THAT POINT (that's not to say that it isn't different now) it was not marked on the res that it was an AP rate. So, for all I knew, it was a Florida resident rate, or AAA, or a group rate because of a conference, or a CM rate (although those were always marked) or a Shades of Green rate, etc...Maybe some current front desk CM's can chime in and tell us if it appears as such now. Back then, it did not.

very true JP! Disney is cracking down on this now and many people have reported that they have been asked for their AP's when they check in. Some people have also been informed that they will need to go activate or purchase their AP's in order to check in. I was asked for mine back in Dec when I checked in at Poly. This was the first time in 4 years of having an AP that I have been asked for it. I also heared numerous CM around me at checkin asking people for them to verify they are eligible for the AP rate. And it does have to be an Adult AP. There was a scene during our stay where a family of 8 had booked 2 rooms on a childs AP and the front desk manager very nicely informed the guest that they would have to go purchase an adult AP in order to keep their rate. :lookaroun The guy was not happy!
