Chicken Soup for the Magic Souls

Hey, Dot! I'm ok. It has been pouring rain here since yesterday.

Abby's soccer game was cancelled this morning, and we have been cooped up inside. The weekends are already so short, and when it rains like this.... :(

((HUGS))
Rainy weekends are no fun when they're the only time you have to get out and do things.

Getting excited for your trip? :D

Yepper.
It's finally starting to feel very close.
I took a long time to find airfares but I did well.
I got us $79 fares for the way down by coming in the night before we were actually due to arrive.
I got us $79 fares for the way home, but it means leaving early in the morning on our last day. I hate that, but the kids don't mind and George and I will going back again before too long, so it's all good.

Well, it kind of all balances out then with adding the extra day at the beginning, right?

Yeah.
We come in on Friday night, so instead of traveling on Saturday, we'll have a full day to do what we want. It works out well, actually.
And fares were just going up and up everytime I checked. I was really getting worried.
So I think I did really well.

February fares are awful, unless you can travel midweek. I didn't tell Dave how much it cost, because I didn't want him to opt for driving again instead.

Just keep checking.
Maybe something will come along.
I don't want to drive again either.
I booked with the high fares, but I do check it daily. The thing is, with it being President's week and Daytona weekend, the fares aren't likely to go down by much.l

Wouldn't it be great if we all could?
She's going to be such a beautiful bride!

Yes she is - and her dress is one of the prettiest I've ever seen. :sohappy:

She should simulcast it! Then we could all watch, kind of like when Anya was born, except for the chicken of course.

If I wasn't going to be on vacation, I'd be happy to make the chicken. :)
If someone could just tell me how long to bake the &^%@# stuff!

Those fares are great! Good for you. I was all proud of myself for finding awesome fares for our December trip. Since we are coming home the day after Christmas, I was expecting to pay big $$. But back in June, I got $209 R/T fares on Airtran (nonstop from Boston). Well, to make a long story short, they changed our flight times twice (and not by a little bit, either) and the second time, they eliminated the nonstop going to MCO! I was like, um I don't think so. So they gave me a full refund and I rebooked with JetBlue. For a bit higher fare, of course....

So are April vacation fares.... :dazzle: I'm still watching them.

Airtran seems to be big on changing flights.
I hope Southwest doesn't start that.

OT:

Did everyone see the video of Anastasia playing in the fountain?
OMGosh it is so precious!

That is adorable! :D I am loving the vids of Anya at Disney.

OT: I'm having a smallish drama w/ Scholastic. I was supposed to go w/ my co-chair to a workshop last week, and they cancelled w/out notifying me :fork:. My rep was mortified, said someone would be sending me a packet for my trouble. So it shows up Friday, and it's an apron, a book by Madonna (:hurl:), and a poster with some safari animals on it (which is the only thing I can use). But the kicker was the comment in the note included, which said they couldn't contact me because I wasn't registered online. Uh huh. Funny how my rep has been able to e-mail me twice and I can access my chairperson toolkit online by entering my e-mail. I smell lies. Not from my rep, from someone else. So I contact my rep and quoted her what was said to me. I would have preferred to just let it drop, but I didn't care for being made to feel like somehow I was in the wrong. Oy. :brick:

I highly doubt that they will. I've flown SW 4 times and they have never changed our flights, not even by a few minutes. I will NEVER book Airtran again. Our options now are Delta or Jetblue out of Boston, or SW out of Manchester, NH. No other airlines fly nonstop to MCO.
