We Loved Breakfast & Dinner. I would recommend having a very late breakfast that could work as lunch too. I would say this because we found more characters to be there at breakfast. When I was there Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Donald were there. However, when we were there for dinner all we saw were Mickey, Minnie & Donald.

I was very surprised at the amount of time these characters spent at our table (we were three adults). Either choice you make will be wonderful.

booked for dinner

i decided to book dinner for 5:10 pm on aug 12.We arrive that day,i figure we will get there about 12:00 after a day and a half of driving from nyc(with a quick overnite somewhere around georgia on saturday 8/11),so im thinking check in ,relax a little, head over to contemporary and start off the trip with a mickey character buffet.I think it will be a good way to get the party started.:ROFLOL:

I noticed that you also asked in another thread about places to eat outside of the world. However, from this threat I'm thinking that maybe you like buffets and the surroundings of Disney. For this I'm going to recommend Boma. It's at AKL, if you spend a day at AK it's less than 3 min. drive from the park.

IMHO this is the best food on disney property. There are abundant selections for the adventurous and for the very picky eaters. There aren't any characters but the atmosphere is amazing and after dinner you can take a stroll by the savannahs at the AKL.

boma

I was looking at boma also.I think buffet would offer more for all of our tastes. My son and daughter are so different in food taste(she is very finicky)so buffet seems like a good option.I think I am going to make an adr for boma on the 15th for bkfst or lunch or the 13th for bkfst.Which do you think would be a better meal?

I see you have decided on dinner at Chef Mickey's already...my brother and his family love it. We make Chef Mickey's our character breakfast.

We had dinner at Boma last week and loved it! We were told they have 3 menu rotations there. My girls are pretty picky and they both found something to love (I understand the ribs were very good). I think it will be a new addition to our restaurant choices.

They only serve breakfast and dinner and after looking over the menu I would go for dinner as the breakfast menu doesn't seem to be that special...mostly the same as other buffets except for some more exotic fruits.

I would definitely agree with tigsmom. Breakfast is nice, but dinner is amazing. Why don't you try looking at the menus at allears.net.

You could schedule the earliest dinner seating that they have and do this as a lunch/dinner type of meal. As full as you would get after eating here you would not need anything for the rest of the night even with is being early.

We normally have dinner at Boma after our day at AK, since the park always closes early it works out well to eat dinner outside of the park.

It sounds like you can't go wrong with either breakfast or dinner at Chef Mickey's. We've only ever been there for breakfast and have loved it every time.

I guess we'll have to try dinner there some time.

thanks

thanks for replys.I think dinner at bomas is a good idea.I forgot that ak closes earlier than the others .So dinner at the end of the ak day would be a nice late night dinner.Chef mickeys for dinner the day we arrive seems like a way to do a little disney w/o the parks and get everyone into disney mode!!

Boma is by far our favorite place to eat in the World. The food is wonderful - and cheaper than Jiko. I also like it being a buffet so that I can try little portions of all the different food instead of being locked into one main dish.

If you go there for dinner - I'd recommend a late one. We usually get a ressie for 7:30 and then when we're done around 9 we venture outside to the savannah viewing area and look at the animals through night vision goggles - FUN!

You can't go wrong with Dinner at Chef's. The chef is AMAZING... and really nice (and cute ;)).

He rotates the menu so it doesn't have the same things every night. It's a great meal!
