We tried it for appetizers back in July. We thought the food was just ok.
Deviled eggs are tricky because there are so many recipes and if it's not close to how your mom or grandma makes them, it's going to fall a bit flat. The bacon is a nice touch and we were thankful Art Smith isn't one to add green olives, but he also doesn't do relish or much seasoning...so it felt a lot like whipped and salted yolks. The bacon is a nice touch though.
The shrimp jubilee was the best thing we ordered. And if you add vodka, it would make one heck of a bloody mary too!
The hush puppies were my "try it and see dish." I don't normally like cornbread or pimento cheese, so I can't slam them. Although, I didn't taste one bit of the pimento cheese...just cornmeal. So, if you like cornbread...you'll like these.
The macaroni and cheese may be good- at some point, but I get the impression that it's made as a casserole and then refreshed/reheated when ordered. i.e. it had that mac in a casserole dish being reheated on day 2 taste and texture. It wasn't too bad after I added a decent amount of salt.
Beyond that, the service was excellent and if you order any drinks with garnishes...they have lots of fresh things at the bar to make it special.
