They definitely are.The leadership roles for both are probably very similar with the same challenges.
The only major differences are terminology and the probability of having unionized vs non-union direct reports.

Oh I can tell you, internally Universal is “handcuffing good people by forcing them to get by with less.” They’ve done some drastic budget cuts. One department for example has only been approved for 20% of what they need to cover epic, while providing services to California as well with them considering to also support international parks. In other departments that are guest facing, they’ve lost coverage for if someone calls out, basically they can’t ask if anyone at the venue whose off is willing to come in, they have to take someone who is from another section, if there is anyone. Also, if WDW is handcuffing good people by forcing them to get by with less, while still expecting better margins it can make the job an unsatisfying grind. Universal may be able to not just offer “new”, but also “you will have the tools you need to be successful.” Cost cutting doesn’t just make customers frustrated.
Is Mythos still considered good? I always thought their QS was abysmal even by theme park standards.

The view puts it over the edge plus I have fond memories of medallions served impeccably by a person that had clearly worked in very upscale restaurants while watching Hulk thrill people. May not be the same today but the location is worth the modest price.I went the other day and had an excellent meal...I used to go there more frequently but it's always been good food and not too pricey for a "premium" restaurant IMO

It was surprising as a place in the middle of a park you could get good food at reasonable prices in such a highly themed environment with a killer view. $20 got you beef medallions, veg of the day and potato all prepared fresh and never from a food service catalogue. $5 more and a very cold beer in an iced mug on a hot day was a great experience many times for me.I’m surprised it ever was. In the world even… I wouldn’t break a sweat coming up with a list of 25 that are better.
Universal had a banner for it outside the restaurant at one point! You take that back! It’s the number one theme park restaraunt according to theme park insider like 20 years ago!
