^I want to add a question to this post if you don't mind.
When you use the online check in, do you have to print anything off? Does it matter if you check in 10 days prior or a few days?
I have checked in online but I haven't arrived for my vacation yet. It starts in about a week. I didn't have to print anything out. Apparently I just need to show my ID when I get there and they will have my packet of keys/info ready for me. And from my understanding you can use online check in anytime from 10 days until your vacation until the day of.
Someone else who has used it and already arrived for their vacation may have more info for the OP.
What resort were you at?Checked in online last night - only room request options it gave me were for a mini-fridge or a pack-n-play. I was hoping to request a king bed but there was no place to enter it.

The king bed rooms there are HC accessible rooms which is probably why they are not an option on line. You can still ask when you pick up your package but those needing a HC room will understandably get preference.
Also just FYI but this is true for all the value resorts. At the moderates, in particular PORS and FQ, king bed is actually a room category now. The bad news about that is that it will cost you a little extra to get one, the good news about it is you can guarantee having one.Ahh - good to know.

I would have thought the same thing. As a general rule what you described is what happens at the values. If they have extra HC rooms available couples get put into them. Almost every time that I have stayed at a value without the kids I have wound up in a king bed room. From what I understand they were just popular enough at the moderate resorts that they moved them into some of the water view rooms and made them a separate category so couples could guarantee them.Interesting, I would have guessed Kings to be in relatively low demand at Disney given the large percentage of families. I would think they would want to make sure they get them filled with all of the couples and singles that show up instead of putting those folks in a double some family of four will insist on getting.
Actually the king bed rooms at the moderates tend to be on the corners of the buildings and can be either a standard or water view, you will be guaranteed a king bed but you cannot guarantee the view. From what I understand they were just popular enough at the moderate resorts that they moved them into some of the water view rooms and made them a separate category so couples could guarantee them.
Correct.Actually the king bed rooms at the moderates tend to be on the corners of the buildings and can be either a standard or water view, you will be guaranteed a king bed but you cannot guarantee the view.
