Our reservation is in my name. I will be arriving prior to dh due to changing our arrival date my one day to take advantage of free dining. If my ds's friend can't leave earlier then my dh, ds, and dsf will be arriving much later than me and dd. Does everyone have to be present at check in or can I just allude to the fact that he might be in the restroom. We are in the same room, so he can just call me on my cell and I can tell him where we are.

You can check in first, just let them know the rest of the party will be arriving separately. They will still have to stop at the desk to check in, get key cards, etc. There should be no problem.

Tigsmom is correct. They are going to want to see his ID when he checks in also.

Why would they need to see his ID they never have before. They usually have only asked for mine or his but never both.

I'm confused.

They dont.

I have never had anyone in my party asked for ID other than the person whos name was on the reservation.

I went atleast 10 times last year and 4 this year and not 1 time was more than 1 ID, the person on the reservation, needed.

Legally, they CAN insist on seeing ID from every adult in the room. However, they don't absolutely HAVE to.

Last trip they wanted picture ID's from DH, myself and our eldest daughter. Princess #2 was insulted she wasn't asked for hers and showed th desk clerk anyway

Since your DH and part of your party are arriving separately they may want his as well; it's all up to the person in charge and the person at the desk.
