Check in times!

Check-in times are either 3:00 or 4:00 depending on where you are staying. On our last trip, we were able to get our room as early as 11:00 because a room was ready. However, you can check-in before 3:00 and if a room is not ready you can store your luggage and head to a park. We usually take the earliest flight possible so that we can make the most of our first day.

Trying to book my flight around check in time. What is the check in time for all WDW resorts?

Check in is at 3:00 pm. However you can leave your bags at your resort and check in pretty much any time. You room will not be ready for you to go into until 3:00. If you are flying into Orlando you might want to check out Disney’s Magical Express. They pick up your bags and deliver them to your resort. All you do is get off the plane and get onto a bus that whisks you off to WDW.

Check-in time varies on resorts. Most are around 4:00 PM. You can arrive at any time any if they have a room available they will put you there immediately. Also keep in mind that they will check your luggage for you and you can go to the parks or Downtown Disney using Disney transportation. Later when you return to the resort you can then get your room info.

My advice is if you are going to have park passes to use for your first day, get there early and enjoy the magic.

Even though this has been effectively answered, I'll just comment to say that yes, definitely get there as early as you possibly can with your flight. (Or as early as you can possibly stand to be awake to get on a plane!) I have almost NEVER had to wait until "official check-in time" to get a room, and it just makes sense that you might as well start enjoying your trip ASAP - you're paying for that first night after all, might as well enjoy the day! They'll hold your luggage for you if they don't happen to have a room ready, as someone already said.

Since the mousekeepers go home at 3:00, your room be done by then. Also, you can check in at anytime, heck, we've checked in at 8:00 AM before... but the thing you have to wait for is the room ;)

Jekyll,

probably what everyone is saying is true, but that's because most people here tend to have annual passes or some kind of length-of-stay passes, so they want to take advantage of every last second of time in the World they can. However, we don't know what kind of passes you have for the parks. For instance, some people who plan on staying in WDW for a week only get passes for 5 days, assuming they might want to rest for a day or go to Universal or Sea World, etc. You may have to choose the days you spend in the parks, rather then go whenever you want. And if that's the case, you might not want to go to the parks your first day, especially if you're tired from the flight and worried you might not enjoy yourself.

Despite that, however, there is no downside to checking in early. Depending on what time of year you're going, you can get on the airplane with shorts or swim trunks on underneath baggy pants or sweat pants. When you check in, go poolside, or hit a water park, etc. You can grab something to eat to get the stank of airplane food off your breath. You can go shopping at Downtown Disney, or with a rental car go to local outlet stores where the prices of Disney swag is much less. And of course, if your passes include admission to the parks that day, go nuts anywhere else you'd like to be. When you get back to your hotel, your room will be ready, your stuff will already be inside, and you can do whatever else you want to do.

We always get to our resort in the morning and never have a problem getting into our room early. In July we got to Pop Century at 8:00 a.m. and got a room immediately.

Officially...

Check in is at 3 pm for all Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts and Fort Wilderness Cabins
Check in is at 4 pm at all Disney Vacation Club Properties (both guest and DVC members)
Check in is at 1pm for Fort Wilderness campsites

All guest are welcome (and encouraged  ) to register as early as 7 am on the day of check-in. If a room is available you will be assigned it, otherwise Bell service will hold your luggage until your room has been prepared, so you can start playing in the parks right away.

On the other end, if you are arriving late on your day of arrival, you do not need to call the resort or the reservation center, the front desk is open 24 hours and your room will be held until 10 am the following morning. If you are delayed more then that then simply call 407-W-DISNEY and we will alert your resort of your estimated arrival time and day.

don't worry about checking in a getting a room. just come to the hotel and since they have the magical express now you don't even have to worry about your luggage anymore. i would get the earliest flight which we do and get there before lunch check in. your luggage will be at in the room later that day when you get back.
