Check-In Materials

I have been doing some reading(too much) for our upcoming September vacation. I have read in a few cases were people have been questioned about their reservations. It seems like some guests pay for their vacation but when they go to check in it is not in the Disney computer system. This is my ultimate nightmare. What should I do to avoid this from happening. What documents should I bring etc... I booked through Expedia so Im not sure when the actual reservation gets to Disney. Any feedback would be great.

It is very rare that would happen, all the times I have been to Disney and never has that happened to me. But Bring ALL (All being the key word) Documents that you have for the trip with you (Plane, Hotel, Car etc...) bring Paperwork for everything, it will really help if you have a problem...

Bring

1. Photo ID

2. Any and all paperwork with confirmation numbers and names of guest.

3. If you paid by CC with Expedia .... bring that same CC with you. I believe Expedia tells you to bring it.

BTW on our last visit in July we book thru AAA at PORS for a family of 5. Upon check-in they only had us listed as a family of 4  The 15 yr old was not on the list..... After showing paperwork to the CM, he then went into the backroom for about 3mins and returned with all 5 of us listed :sohappy: ALL IS GOOD!!!

Here's what you bring

OK, here is how to not worry in the slightest.

When you make your Disney reservations at the resort, they should have (or will) sent you a mailing that has all of your confirmation materials on it.

Simply take that copy (make a copy and put it on another person in your group in case you lose the original) and take your id, and Credit card and show it at the desk and thats all you'll need.

If you have the confirmation that they sent you and they dont show it, they will with no questions asked, give you a room and if it's full they'll upgrade you per your request.

I booked through Expedia and I got an e-mail confirmation with all my information. Will Disney send me something as well or does Expedia send the confimration over to Disney just before we arrive?

I would call Expedia and speak to someone. We have used Expedia for other non-Disney hotel with no problems. Onetime, made a late change to plan and had to call them direct. They took care of the change and I think waived the late fee..... We wanted to add a 2nd night. I have seen others post here that have had no problems with Disney-Expedia packages, maybe someone will post soon.

A related question. I made my final payment for our Fairytale package and was told I would receive my documents in 10-14 days. It's now been three weeks and nothing has arrived. Other than my luggage tags what should I be receiving? And has anyone else received their luggage tags yet?

We got our travel papers 2 weeks before our trip(booked with AAA). Check with whomever booked your vacation. Everything pertaining to your vacation should arrive:

listing of your party, with vac details, any vouchers for stuff owed you (giveaways, etc), rental car info (if you got one). Look for stuff like this.

In the pack with your luggage tags, their should be a couple of things of paperwork. One is a hotel voucher paper. You take that with all of your other information to the desk upon check-in. You will then get your room keys that have your park passes on them. You will also get a voucher there to take to one of many places to pick up your gift. I had no trouble with my FTP in July and am doing it again in October. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
