Cheap Umbrella vs. Poncho

There's one point people forgot to mention. A lot of the afternoon rains, especially during the hot summer months, can also come with high winds. Those cheap umbrellas usually don't stand a chance, especially that black Mickey umbrella (I know, I bought one). They also don't keep you dry when those winds are whipping around with the rain.

So I got for the poncho route. It's an object that has multipurpose uses for me when I'm at WDW.

I dislike umbrellas for the safety issue. They are the literal "sharp stick in the eye," and yet another hazard for children to navigate.

They are also something likely to be set down in a restaurant or shop and be lost forever.

A large hat should be sufficient during those brief summer showers. Perhaps those goofy ones shaped like an umbrella. (the ones that nearly every spectator at the Tour de France was wearing)

I like the poncho, especially in the Studios. When you've staked out your fantastic Fantasmic seats 90 minutes before the show, it's nice to have something between your tush and the bleachers. :p
