I don't know how cheap you want to go, but there's practically every rage of chain hotel around WDW. I think if you take a look on a site like TripAdvisor or Hotels.com you'll be able to research a wide variety of places to stay, along with some reviews of each.

Doubletree Suites is a good one. You are right in the middle of everything, close to all the parks and across the road from Downtown Disney. They have pretty good bus service to each of the parks every 20 to 30 minutes. All their room are suites. You have a kitchen area with a mini fridge and microwave and sink. There is a dressing area and living area plus a bedroom, and a nice size bathroom and large safe. It's big enough for a small laptop plus a large camera.
Look for Doubletree Suites in Lake Buena Vista to get the right one. The fresh hot chocolate cookies when you arrive are great. My daughter always goes back to get more.
When you book, the price might be a little high, but book anyway and watch the site daily, because we've gone from booking at 213.00 to a final cost of 79.00 per night. They will honor any new prices that come up. We always book way in advance, so we get lots of chances to get a markdown. The last time in December, we got the lower price the week before we went. You do have to pay 10.00 a day to park, but it's worth it to be so close to the parks.
Even in the parks, if you book at a value, you can get that price, but the rooms are very small and the safe is only big enough for a wallet or two and a very small camera.
We booked the Arts for September at only 113.00 a night for a brand new resort. The regular room there open September 15th. The suites, which are expensive for a value, open May 31st. They are on site.
We prefer to stay on site for long visits to get the extra hours and free parking. They make the trip so much less stressful, but for short fou-day weekends, we always stay at the Doubletree.

Thanks, we were looking at the knights inn which was cheap but it was getting to Disney as I can't drive yet and even if I did I still wouldn't be able to car rent because I think it's 25 and over and I'm coming up 22 :D so yeah will have a look on them I think we stayed in their suites when I was 7 as they messed up with my grandads timeshare and put us in there instead it was great :)

You might want to look into which hotels/motels in the area offer complementary shuttle services to the parks. This could help you out some with the transportation.

Most places will let you rent under 25, they just have stipulations. And I wouldn't consider $79 a night cheap, since you could pay a little more and be on site with all of the perks. When we take off site trips down there, we aim for the $32-45 range. We stayed at the Ramada Main Gate West, which is directly south of the AK on 192. I think we paid $42 a night(during Spring Break in 2011) and we loved it. It's only about a 45 second drive to World Drive so you'll be at the park in no time.

Whatever you do, do NOT stay at the Motel 6 on 192, just west of World Drive. The rooms are terrible and they didn't even have an alarm clock in the room. Yes, you read that right, an alarm clock.

You can read my review of it here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser..._West-Kissimmee_Florida.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT

Mine is the fourth review from the top. Good luck and let us know how things go!

Normally, I would advise to look off-site to save money, but in your transportation situation I think it would be best for you to stay on site like Pof4 mentioned above.

Definitely look into a Value Resort since they will get you from the Airport, to the resort, to the parks, back to your resort and back to the airport at no extra charge.

The off-site shuttles are normally not at convenient times and leave you with a lot less times in the parks and that is really what you are paying to do...be in the parks.

You can also look at the on property, non-Disney hotels on Hotel Plaza Boulevard. They have very good transportation to and from the parks, but you would need to book with Mears or Quicksilver to get you from the airport to your resort.

I hate to give up my secret, but Roadway Inn on 192 is about 2 minutes away from the parks and goes for about 28 bucks a night. It location is convientent because its right next to the parks (you can actually get to the parks faster then if you were to stay at one of the all star resorts on property) and its right next to about 20 restaurants and grocery stores. You will have to rent a car, but renting a car will actually save you money in the long run. YOU wont be stuck in disney. You wont have to pay 12 bucks for a burger fries and drink. You can find discount souvenir spots were a mickey mouse doll is 2 dollars instead of 20. So yes you will have to rent a car, but it will pay for itself in the long run.

Because the OP is under 25, most rental car companies will charge her an extra 20-25 a day or so on top of the initial fee. Then there's the per-day parking fee at WDW (14 bucks, I believe). If by Roadway Inn you mean "Rodeway Inn" (I'm not mocking any potential typos, I just want to make sure we're talking about the same place), their prices are pretty dirt cheap. Just picked a random week in June and their prices are, indeed, 28 bucks a night (I don't know if that includes any hotel taxes, or if it's the kind of hotel that charges you to use their parking lot or anything like that). But $28, plus $25 for just the additional car rental fee for being an under-25 driver, plus $14 for parking, you're already at 67 bucks a night, plus the actual cost to rent the car. Even if that's only 25 a night, you're now at 92 a night. Plus gas/taxes.

For not much more, they can stay in a Value, use Magic Express to get them to and from the airport, and onsite transportation after that. Granted, they'll pay more eating all meals onsite, and they'll have to decide if that's worth the extra money for being immersed in the "magic" 24/7. I'm not the biggest fan of the Values, but if I were in the situation of the OP (under 25 so rental cars are not as affordable), I'd go Value onsite and not look back.

I'd like to add that everyone should become a AAA member. The savings on rental cars alone will make up for the annual fee. I think my membership is like $89 a year. That gets me 2 tows of 3 miles or less, and 2 tows up up to 100 miles. It also includes free roadside assistance. The savings on rental cars alone has paid for the fee for us. For instance; we rented a car for 11 days in March and it cost us $316. The same car normally would have cost $380 at the least from all of the research I did. Since we rent cars for our daughters cheer trips, it pays for itself.

Plus AAA has its own travel center and they often get slightly decent package rates for WDW packages. You can almost always find better deals yourself if you hunt, but if you don't know how to hunt, or don't have time to hunt, AAA isn't going to screw you either.

Sorry if it's a bit late, but we stopped at the double tree universal twice and it was gorgeous! We also stayed at the Coco Key one year when money was a wee bit short thinking it was going to be dreadful but it was lovely! Basic, but clean, comfy and there is a private pool for guests which practically had no one in, so it was lovely to sit round :)
