Cheap food finds at the World

My husband and I LOVE food (who doesn't, right? especially at the World). We've enjoyed dining at California Grill, Le Cellier, and lots of other delicious (and expensive) restaurants! But there are lots of cost-friendly, delicious options that are available to please the palate without breaking the bank! We are planning a trip in March that we want to do as cheaply as possible (taking three trips in 6 months, so this one will be on the cheap). We both have AP's, got very cheap flights, and are planning on trying to do our meals--not as cheap as possible--but as cheap as we can do enjoyably! We don't want to bring our own food or anything like that, we love dining at Disney, we just want to get some deals :) We like to drink around the world, so I'm sure we will be having drinks, but I just wanted to start compiling a list of some cheap--but still delicious--dining options!! It's kind of fun to try to see how cheaply you can eat at Disney!! Here's what I have so far:

(FYI, we both have big appetites, but we do like to eat a little bit lighter at meals so that we can save room for more snacks. There is so much to enjoy at WDW)

Biscuits and gravy $3.69-- I had this while staying at POFQ in October. I LOVE biscuits and gravy and this is a very large portion (two biscuits, both split in half, covered in sausage gravy). I couldn't finish it all myself, so I think I could probably split this with the DH. Very cheap and filling breakfast! In addition, we will have a TiW card that will be applicable at the cafeteria at All-Star Sports where we will be staying!

Corn Dog Nuggets $4.49 at Casey's Corner, MK --- I LOVE these things dipped in the fake cheese! Plenty of food for me, no need for fries!

Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle sandwich $6.99 at Sleepy Hollow, MK -- DH and I split one of this for lunch one day on our May trip, and then had a snack in the afternoon when we got a little hungry. Very good! Not super filling, but perfect for a light lunch for us.

Chicken Schwarma Platter at Tangierine Cafe, Epcot - $11.99 -- DH and I have split this one twice, both times for dinner. Plenty of tasty food for the two of us to have for dinner. Great deal to split it on the dining plan too!

Nachos at La Cantina de San Angel, Epcot - $9.99 -- Another one that we split! Very good, especially when paired with a split margarita as well!

Those are just a few that come to mind right now! In general, we definitely get the most value out of splitting menu items. We enjoy kind of "grazing" around the World. What are some of your favorite cheap (but still delicious) eats at WDW?

I would say the best value is always the refillable mugs :p

Great question. I view a cheap meal being able to be shared by more than one person. (if that makes sense) This trip (thanks to @real mad hatter and @sgtmgd) I tried Casey's bbq slaw dog. This, paired with fries and a soda, can easily feed two. Also the nachos at La Cantina (CS in Mexico) is plentiful and good. Also, Captain Hooks at the Poly, has HUGE burgers, I shared with DH this past October. Alot of CS meals, paired with a side and soda are a great bargain, especially if you are on the dining plan.

Pressed Tuscan Deli $8.99 at Studio Catering Co DHS. It was really big, enough to share. Delicious? eh. But absolutely sharable. The honey or sweet & sour chicken at the Yak & Yeti CS is good and shared with a adult beverage... :)

My wife and I were able to split the QS burgers you can get at most QS locations, and would just get an extra fry. We found Earl of Sandwich to be really good and inexpensive. We would get the tuna salad to go and keep it in our resort room to eat for lunch the next day. Wolfgang Puck Express has big portions as well, one of their pizzas can feed two. We also would get the funnel cake and split that, it was very filling!

for like 11 bucks, I got a Turkey sandwich on a baguette at the new BOG restaurant for lunch,,,,

we could have split it, it was huge. And it came with a good quantity of french fries. Enough to share.

you also get refillable sodas there,,2.79 I think,,,,which is a nice touch,,,,,

and all the deserts are 3 bucks during lunch,,,,

11+2.79+3.00=less than 17 bucks for the both of us to eat. We spent more because we didn't plan on sharing, but next time, we'll share. We thought what we got for the $$ was a great deal.

Thanks to all for the great suggestions! Seems like splitting things is definitely the way to go! Any adults ever ordered kids meals? Is that allowed?

My daughter and I have had childrens meals in the past, when we haven't been on the dining plan. We had chicken nuggets with 2 sides (chicken fried rice and fries) at Annandapur Local Cafe and it was plenty, washed down with a Yak Attack.

We do order the kid's meals at CS- and I love the wee portion of fries + grapes that come with the burgers. We did split an order of some sort of stir fried beef at Yak & Yeti ( we each ordered a won ton soup- I'm not sharing that great stuff!). Plenty of food for two people- and DH is 6'4"!

I also agree about getting kid's meals because the portion sizes are just right.

The Liberty Square Market at MK has a baked potato that is only around $3. Most of the food courts have a soup option that is really inexpensive. I love soup so that's always a good option for me. When we stayed at AKL a few years ago, Mara served the same soups that they had a Boma. So good!

Also, you can order a la carte at the quick service locations so we will often just get one fry to share. It saves money and calories!
