Chat room?

Have you ever had a chat room or thought about one? I think it would be really nice to sit in a room and talk one on one with people from here

We had a chat room a looooong time ago. It didn't work out well, for a variety of reasons.

We tried one out waaaaaaaaay back in 2001. The main problem was that its impossible to moderate, which leaves it wide open for all kinds of problems. The other point, is that so many people now use instant messaging, and all kinds of other online resources for chats. Forum based chats tend to not be very popular. I'll never say never, but a chat area isnt in the current plans for the site.
