On our last trip, we had 6 adults staying in a 2BR. There were 6 towels in the room. Seems to make sense right? Unfortunately, 3 adults were women who use a towel for their hair and a towel for their body. Now we are short. After returning fro a park late one evening,we stopped by the front desk to ask for more and were told they would send some up. After 45 minutes we are ready to hit the sheets so we called to find out when the towels would arrive. We were told that since we were staying on points there would be a $6 charge. They couldn't have called to let us know? It took another hour to get towels. At one point I was told to just go to the pool and get some towels. Really? In my opinion Disney needs to adequately supply the room before they should start charging for items. Disney sells DVC on the premise of their "legendary" service. What they leave out is that when you become a member, you aren't really a guest any more. This reality is becoming more clear as the years go on. Once they have a guaranteed visitor, the incentive to make them feel special fades. I can say that the 2 couples with us were less than impressed. So Disney may have lost $40,000 of future member buy in over $6 towels. That is leaping over dollars to pick up nickels. My dues go up every year regardless of whether or not someone gets an extra towel or two. Add the fact that the "new" sleeper sofas are cheap replacements that caused 2 separate adult couple significant discomfort. Now the accomodations I was sold don't live up to the sales pitch either. What I am realizing is that I was duped by thinking I would get the same type of vacation after buying DVC as I was before. Shame on me for that.
