Charecters should be more visable

I understand fully about security and safety when it comes to the charecters, kids mobbing them, touching them etc but seems when we first started coming to Disney in 80s that the charecters were visable in so many areas. They could be seen on rides...they were in the pools sometimes ..walking up main st or hanging in some of the stores. Now you need to check times and maps for certain viewing areas, and I am not saying maybe its neccassary, but was sooooo much better for my kids when they were growing up to see them at so many areas. I remember taking the train with the kids and chip and dale were sitting 2-3 seats ahead of us, as if they were just naturally taking a ride on the train like kids were.

That was before guests began taking Disney to court for alleged offenses committed by the 'character'.

Think for yourselfer

It was also before parents needed their kid to have private time with the character. Get an autograph, get 10 pictures with each one. It used to be a spontaneous greeting and that was enough. Not anymore.

Disney has their reasons but i do miss the "oh look at that character randomly being out and about, lets go see him" feeling.

I agree, and even better were the times when you would be minding your own business when Captain Hook would come from behind and take your mom hostage or Mickey and Minnie would sneak up and grab you by the hand and just go skipping with you out of no where. Those were real Magical moments for kids, not this wait on line for 45 minutes so that you can see Mickey for 30 seconds.

Let's look at the bright side here. It makes it feel more special to us to just happen upon a charachter. We've got some great pic's and never stood in a line longer that 3 or 4 people deep. We also never get a print out of meet and greets. If we see them, we do and if we don't, well we don't. I can say that we have no shortage of pic's with charachters. We do walk past ALOT of chacters with long lines though, who has time for that!! :zipit:
