Quick question.....
In DLP the characters were at certain places in the park and we queued to meet them

I have heard that in WDW the characters aren't at certain places..... they walk around the parks and its hard to get them to stop for a photo/autograph
Can someone advise please?

Ok thank you , at DLP i purchased the book for autographs and photo's and my son ended up with about 12... which was great fun

Let me rephrase - the majority of the characters have regularly assigned spots, as listed on that link. Other times you can find characters greeting at unscheduled places, such as cast members who are training.

When you enter MK you can go to City Hall and they can tell you the character schedules. At EP, DHS & AK, guest relations areas near the entrances can give you that info as well. Most characters are now M&G at certain places and for certain times so they can control the guest interaction and character escapes off stage for breaks. Guests have gotten more demanding and out of control than in the past.

Hahahahaha!! Disney making character greetings convenient? Hahahahahaha!! That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. But seriously, I wish they'd bring that back.

You're more likely to find characters wandering about DLR than WDW.

And even then it's quite rare . One of the best pictures I've ever gotten was coming out of AK and seeing Mickey AND Minnie, together, standing in front of one of the ticket/admission purchasing windows (so you couldn't really see them as you exited unless you turned). There was NO ONE in line so we quick dashed over and took a picture with them both. That is the only time, outside of a running event (and even then I don't really see them together all that much) that I've ever seen them together!
