Characters Talking

I think it would be a little too awkward if a face character just stood there and didn't say anything...because they're are playing people, it's best that they talk and react like people don't ya think?

the characters are fine the way they are

the talking aspect is fine, i just think in certain instances that there is an over saturation that makes it hard for parents to explain to kids how mickey is in 10 places at once...

When they are old enough to think that much into it, then...

On the subject of characters. On the cartoons Pluto walks on all fours while in person(so to speak) he walks on two. Not too mention he is the same size as Mickey in person. I guess pluto only walks on fours when he is acting.

Hmm, why are you sighing? Relieved?

No, because the dreaded "character questions" were asked. The one discussion not allowed on our discussion boards. :lookaroun You're going to ruin the magic for all the "kids" on the boards.

KEVIN! STOP READING RIGHT NOW! :lookaroun :p

Oh okay, thanks. Had someone Privated Messaged or emailed, the problem could have been corrected right away. (personally though, if you are old enough to post on a board, you should be old enough to know about the info I typed, it wasn't that earth shattering!) The post has now been revised in a more Magically-Correct manner.

oh.. I was part of that magic for many years of my life and to this day I hold its sanctity sacred... that being said, kids read these boards... and that's why I believe in keeping the discussions either over their head, or keeping the magic alive. In this day, children are exposed to countless things I wasn't... namely violence, cursing, and civil unrest worldwide. They still have their imaginations intact... leave it intact. They know about cursing, they know about fights, and they know that the Disney Characters are real. Don't deny them that knowledge.

alright... enough ranting, I want a McRib.

That's cool...I respect that, I really do. But the info I typed, and now have gone back and eliminated, was published in a Disney magazine as I recall. So, it didn't seem to be anything that couldn't be learned from reading an official publication. Next time someone breaks the unwritten rule, someone may want to email or private message the person to let them know. When I read "Sigh.." I had no idea what it was about.

Just to clarify, the sigh and eye roll wasn't directed at any one in particular (except perhaps mkt...knowing he would get it :animwink: ) just the thread in general and the fact that some people just can't suspend reality.

With that said I'm off to do some slo-mo hanging in the air fighting ala the Matrix Trilogy...because as everyone knows, that happens all the time. :lookaroun

Okay, thank you, I appreciate that.

Bottom line people it would kill the illusion COMPLETELY. Why do they talk in shows and parades. Well logically how would a show be witht he characters if their voices were not involved. Plus the scripts are written to make it easy for Mickey to accentuate if you get what I am saying.
Besides the reasons that we have stated, if a character besides the human ones, were to talk then a kid would then be faced with a wake up call that we do not want ot give them. They ARE the real deal to kids and kids at heart.

A human, or face, character can talk because you are looking face to face with another human, and a loved character none the less. How rude and heartbreaking would it be if they did not talk to you. With the fur characters the situation is much different.
