Characters in Disney Springs

Even though imo it doesn't fit, I'm honeslty this hasn't happened already. I know of a lot of people who go to DS instead of any of the parks because there is no admission. They get to say they're going to Disney without the expense. But imagine if they charged a small fee to these non resort or park guests for a meet n greet. I bet they could get it! I'll stop giving them ideas though...

What type of Family entertainment is down at DS at this time? If there isn't any type, do you think this will be added so families have more options besides dining and retail? They have done a excellent job with this development.
Edit: kind of joking, is this their chance to have Marvel characters Meet and Greet atWDW since it's not inside a theme park. disney did the Monorail loop a little while back since it didn't enter the MK theme park. But they couldn't do this with the EPCOT loop since it does go inside the park. Not trying to start a debate UN vs. disney.
I don't understand why Disney doesn't have Marvel characters at any hotel or Disney Springs. I think that's within the rules.

As for entertainment options, Splitsville, Characters in Flight, DisneyQuest and Cirque du Soleil are the biggest options. There's a carousel, water play area and a mini train, but the real form of entertainment is dining and shopping.

I would think creating a Marvel hotel would be within the rules too, right? A Marvel themed moderate/Deluxe (Stark Tower?) could be quite intriguing to many.

I'm assuming that DS is fairly crowded in the evening, and packed on the weekends. The tenants are probably locked in for at least 3 years, maybe more. If a lot of the new stores aren't doing well, I don't see the DS bean counters losing any sleep over it. When the first set of DS Town Center leases are up, and a business wants to walk away, my guess is that there will be plenty of other business lining up to fill the spots.

We walked around DS for a little bit on Saturday, went into Under Armour, Alex and Ani and Sephora, but didn't buy anything...just looked around. We then went into the Lego store, played around, our friend bought the castle and then we left to go to World of Disney.

For me personally, I would never buy anything from the new shops. If anything, I'd head over to the outlets where the same type of products are sold at lower prices.

Retail has a way of sorting itself out. If people don't want to buy what is being sold the store will go out of business. An example would be all those Ink Cartridge Refill franchisees that dotted strip malls across the country. Most are gone. I think the 3D printing might work, but the bridal shop, I'm not so sure. I'm sure parents would love Disney Child Care, but I don't know the specifics of hiring qualified careworkers and paying for adequate insurance in order to turn a profit.

I agree, DS with few exceptions is just another high priced mall.
A child care would be a great idea, though if they ever did one they'd probably need to do it under a different brand/company as it would be too risky to have it under the disney name.

even the pet care place isnt branded as 'disney' like it use to be when the pet day care was at the parks.

and i cant imagine the pile of paperwork that would be required. they make you sign a TON of forms saying they arent responsible before dropping off your pet for the day so just imagine the paperwork that would be required for a child.

But if they have to go to these lengths to get people to shop the problem isn't the location it's the products offered for sale.

I'd say a good majority of the shops are clothing. Where's the trinket and knick knack shops? Where's the pop culture and Electronic stores like Apple or dare I say Microsoft?

As a 30's something male I have only found two stores in the entire Town Center to be interesting enough that I'd consider purchasing something but I don't go to Disney to buy clothes. I go to disney to relax, eat and enjoy the company of friends and family. The Food offerings at Disney Springs are fantastic but I have no idea what they were thinking when it comes to the shopping Mall. Malls are dying for a reason, they are boring. I want stores with products I literally can not purchase anywhere else. Open a store with 3D printers that you can purchase and make your own souvenirs for example. (print on demand vinylmations?) Open a store that's just Disney Music and Movies that can be downloaded directly to a phone and make it cheaper than anywhere online. Open a Disney Daycare so Mom and Dad can get dinner without the munchkins. Open a Bridal shop that's tied into Disney Weddings...............Make Disney Springs Unique and not like literally every shopping mall in the surrounding 20 mile radius. Disney could certainly learn a few things from artegon marketplace for example.

i definitely like some of your ideas, the stores need to be more unique

and it would make me happy if the high end plan crashed and burned, right now none of the new stores appeal to me hardly at all

in the past we'd go there look around and if we found something we wanted it was at least in the realm of possibilities to buy it.

i did buy a $150 dollar watch one time from fossil over at citywalk on a whim, but thats way less than most of the new stores in DS sell stuff for.

The realm of possibilities never included, for me at least, most of the items in arribas brothers and the Art of Disney - yet they're still afloat without my spending. I doubt any of the leases are less than 5 years (some one mentioned 3 years) - and at the very least some brands will keep their stores afloat at DS as flagships locations.

Disney already offer childcare in their deluxe hotels under the Disney name. Wouldn't be a stretch to add it to Disney Springs as well.

They already have child care services at some of the resorts. The Polynesian has Lilo's Playhouse.

But, let's not forget that the Coca Cola store is suppose to be getting the Henson Creature Coca Cola Polar bear for M&G's...
