Character Spot is open and busy

Well, Character Spot at Epcot is open and is doing very well. Character Connection was showing up on tipboards as "see time" and seemed oddly out of place - since Character Spot has opened, it's obvious the location will have a constant line.

The entrance area has a bit of interior queue and then it flows out into an open area before turning down the west breezeway.

The west breezeway is the most important factor in the line. The lower windows of the glass wall are clear (not covered with the stylized decor) and you can plainly see the characters meet/greet locations as you walk through the breezeway. This acts like a kid-magnet. Thus, the line:

That's cool. Anyone brave the line to see what's inside? Probably just the five and chipmunks, etc. Oh, and thanks very much for the update, Merf.

You can see everything inside from the breezeway thanks to the glass wall. It's the fab 5 and the munks. Just glancing into the large windows in the breezeway I could see the munks, Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy.

Good grief - what a line! I remember the "good ole days" when you could walk right in and instantly be on the receiving end of a Mickey hug. :)

We were lucky enough to get several character dinners w/ some of our favorites.
So, if it is busy during our visit, we will probably skip the Character Spot at Epcot.

I was there last friday 5/18, around 4:00pm, no lines at all. Inside they had Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Pluto, and Chip 'n' Dale.

We went to the Character Spot in December during our trip. We were basically the only ones in the room w/ the characters. I think it was relatively new, b/c I don't remember seeing any signs indicating that the characters were inside.

We got lots of great family pics in there. I definitely wouldn't have sat in that line, b/c it continues inside.

It's interesting to see that each character backdrop refelects different themes of Epcot (in a toontownesque way).

Mickey: all themes

Goofy: Mission:Space

Chip 'n Dale: Universe of Energy

Pluto: The Land

Minnie: Spaceship Earth

Where's Donald?

It looks like Minnie's been programming The Matrix. :lookaroun
(check out the screens on the right of the picture)

Nice hidden Mickey in Goofy's section, too.

The last time I was there they were all in YOMD garb. Interesting that they've gone back to "traditional" attire. I haven't ever seen Donald in there, since they moved locations. It's always been Mickey, Minney, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip and Dale. I wish Donald would appear there.

Was Epoct particularly crowded the day you took that picture? I must have been lucky, but I never saw a line out the door like that before. Good grief!

Is this near the meet and greet spot for Disney Visa card members? Also, is the Disney Visa deal just one per trip?
Thanks

If you walk out the back of Club Cool and kind of walk around behind it to the right, you'll run into this greeting area.
